Happy Kiwanis Wednesday!! Our latest speaker, Nick Fowler with WPS, is one of our favorites (iykyk 😁)! He would love to see the community show up and be loud at the baseball fields for his teams. Pictured below are a few of our members who have swung for the fences in their glory years (from left to right: Austin Lafferty, Kyle Hilterbran, Todd Lafferty, Coach Fowler, and Ladd Lafferty). Join us today at noon at the Watonga Senior Citizens Center.

Run, don't walk to Kiwanis today!! Last week, we were excited to have Sherry Cowan, WHS cross country coach as our guest speaker. After listening to her speak, I came away thinking running seemed fun!! But with this heat we are having, that feeling didn't last long. 😁 Pictured with Sherry (right) is one of her classmates from way back in the day and our fearless leader, Lana! Hope you can join us today at Noon at the Senior Citizen Center for a delicious meal and another great speaker!!

We appreciate Briston Lowry, Watonga's new police chief, for letting us get to know him a little better during our Wednesday meeting a couple of weeks ago. Our Kiwanis club and the chief have at least one thing in common: we are both working toward making our community the best it can be! If you are thinking about getting to know Kiwanis better, there is no time like the present! We meet at the Senior Citizen Center on Wednesdays at noon. We would love for you to join us!

Kiwanis Wednesday today! A couple of weeks ago we were lucky to have Bobby Nailon from Scouting America as a guest speaker. It's good to know that scouting is alive and well and trying to get started again right here in Watonga. He is pictured here with our own Eagle Scouts, Ladd Lafferty (left) and Andy Barrett (right). If you have a kid that might be interested in scouting, let me know and I can give you his contact info.

It's Kiwanis Wednesday!! If you aren't a member, you are missing out on some great speakers and the info they share. We were blessed to have Tasha Clewell and Myra Flynn with Mercy Hospital come visit with us about the MyMercy app. They fielded our questions about anything and everything like champs! Thank you ladies!!

From Linda Barrett:

Watonga children participated in the Summer Youth Program art day, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. They used their imagination to draw images for this July 4th, America's 250th Anniversary, using pastels on dark construction paper." I can send pictures by email if you'll send me an email address. Thanks. /Linda Barrett

ATTENTION KIWANIS SUMMER YOUTH PARTICIPANTS:

Due to a lack of lifeguards at Roman Nose, Kiwanis will be busing kids to the Okeene city pool on swimming days. However, the bus driver will not be available on Wednesday, June 3rd and Thursday, June 4th. So the first swimming day will be Friday, June 5th. Please share to help spread the word or tag if you know someone that has kids involved in the summer program. Thank you!

Our club is so blessed to have these two as Kiwanians!! They each agreed to do a speaker gig for us! Bill Gauer usually gets roped in once a year to get us ready for all the new tax laws. And his lovely wife, Jennifer, keeps us informed on all the happenings at Roman Nose State Park. They are a great treasure to the Watonga community!! If you thought about checking Kiwanis out, we meet at Noon every Wednesday in the Senior Citizen Center. We would love to have you!
