ATTENTION KIWANIS SUMMER YOUTH PARTICIPANTS:

Due to a lack of lifeguards at Roman Nose, Kiwanis will be busing kids to the Okeene city pool on swimming days. However, the bus driver will not be available on Wednesday, June 3rd and Thursday, June 4th. So the first swimming day will be Friday, June 5th. Please share to help spread the word or tag if you know someone that has kids involved in the summer program. Thank you!

Our club is so blessed to have these two as Kiwanians!! They each agreed to do a speaker gig for us! Bill Gauer usually gets roped in once a year to get us ready for all the new tax laws. And his lovely wife, Jennifer, keeps us informed on all the happenings at Roman Nose State Park. They are a great treasure to the Watonga community!! If you thought about checking Kiwanis out, we meet at Noon every Wednesday in the Senior Citizen Center. We would love to have you!

She might be new, but she already has a long list of ideas and activities planned for the Watonga library. Stop in and introduce yourself to her! We were honored to have a few members of the Plains Collective be our meeting speakers a few weeks back. Pictured with our President, Lana Melcor (middle), is Ramona Tall Bear, Larry Roman Nose, Jackie Turtle, and Melvin Roman Nose. They were all fascinating to listen too! And Larry's got stories for days!! We very much appreciate them making time for us! And be on the lookout around town for Plains Collective events. If you aren't a member of Kiwanis, you are really missing out! Fred Figeroa, Diamondback prison warden, and Patrick Wise, the assistant warden, were our last guest speakers before the holiday break and had lots of interesting info on the prison. And they treated us to a tour of the prison!! We are very grateful that they took they time out of their busy schedule just for us and all of our questions! We are very THANKFUL for Colten Hightower and his beautiful bride, Sheena! He came in clutch to be our speaker at the last meeting. He and Sheena are an important part of Watonga's highly popular and successful wrestling community. They did a great job of sharing their passion for the sport with us!! We were excited to have Darci Stephenson, WPS HS/MS counselor, as our speaker last week. She did a great job on short notice! Thank you, Darci! It's our business meeting today so it's the perfect time to come and ask questions if you are interested in becoming a Kiwanian. Lunch is served at Noon at the Senior Citizen Center.
