A new season is here, and with it comes an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the life of a young adult.

At Lydia’s Place, our boutique provides students with access to clothing, shoes, personal care items, and everyday essentials they may not otherwise be able to afford. These simple items help build confidence, restore dignity, and remind our students that they are supported by a community that cares.

We are currently accepting:
🧥 Men’s and women’s spring and summer clothing only
👟 Shoes and accessories
🧴 Full-size toiletries

📍 Donation Drop Off: Thursday, June 18th | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. 1260 Greensboro Hwy Ste. 210 Watkinsville

Every donation helps create a welcoming space where students can find what they need as they pursue education, employment, and independent living.

Nationally, only 50% of young adults who have experienced foster care graduate from high school. Those numbers remind us why this work matters and why moments like these are worth celebrating.

This year, five Lydia’s Place students reached significant educational milestones:

✨ Four students graduated from high school
✨ Three graduates will continue their education at Athens Technical College this fall
✨ One graduate is pursuing a career in real estate and will begin studying for his Realtor licensing exam
✨ One student earned her Associate’s Degree and is continuing her education toward a Bachelor’s Degree

These accomplishments represent far more than diplomas and degrees. They reflect perseverance, resilience, determination, and countless hours of hard work. Each graduate has faced unique challenges and chosen to keep moving forward.

To our graduates, we are incredibly proud of you. Thank you for showing us what courage, grit, and hope look like. We are honored to be part of your journey and cannot wait to see where life takes you next.

To our supporters, thank you for investing in our students and believing in their potential. Your generosity helps create opportunities, provide support, and remind our young adults that they are not walking this journey alone.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and we are deeply grateful for the freedoms they fought to protect.

As we spend time with family and friends today, may we also pause to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who served our nation so selflessly.

In observance of Memorial Day, Lydia’s Place will be closed today. We will reopen tomorrow during normal business hours.

We are incredibly grateful to Jeff and Patty Faulkner, owners of Cross Farm, for their extraordinary generosity and partnership.

In 2025, they donated a cow, Lydia, to Lydia’s Place. Since then, our herd has grown with the addition of Annie, and Lydia recently welcomed a beautiful calf named Buttercup.

Thanks to Jeff and Patty, our cows have a wonderful home at Cross Farm, where our students are gaining hands-on experience and learning all about farm life. From naming the cows to understanding the farm-to-table process and the many resources cattle provide, this has become a meaningful and educational opportunity for the young adults we serve. Watching our students connect with the animals and learn valuable life skills has been such a gift.

This partnership is also creating a long-term investment in the future of Lydia’s Place. As our herd continues to grow, it will provide ongoing financial support for years to come.

Thank you, Jeff and Patty, for investing in our students and helping create experiences they will never forget. Your generosity is making a lasting impact.

Today we had the joy of celebrating a very special birthday for someone who means so much to Lydia’s Place.

What Diane thought was a routine staff lunch quickly turned into a surprise birthday celebration surrounded by staff, board members, and family who love and appreciate her deeply.

Diane, your unwavering faith, compassion, and servant heart have touched the lives of countless young adults and inspired everyone who has the privilege of working alongside you. Your leadership has helped create a place where students feel seen, loved, and supported as they build brighter futures.

Thank you for your vision, your dedication, and the countless ways you pour into others each and every day.
We are so grateful for you and the incredible impact you continue to make.

Because of your vision, courage, and unwavering faith, Lydia’s Place exists as a safe haven for young adults navigating life after foster care and housing instability. Your “yes” has turned into countless stories of hope, growth, and transformation.
