There are so many tragic stories in pet rescue but we help many have happy endings. This one makes my blood boil. Stanley, who was Buddy when we first met him last year, was shot in the head and left for dead by his disgustingly creepy owner. He was found in a field and rescued. The bullet had missed his brain. He is now living happily with a very loving family in the Denver area. He has no physical or mental deficits. We met up at the Colorado Beagle rescue picnic for the first time since we flew him in. Made me teary.

Last weekend was the annual picnic for Colorado Beagle Rescue. They Work with rescues in Arkansas and have saved hundreds of Beagles and other dogs over the years. I have been lucky enough to fly many of them.

We made an appearance at the Wings Over the Rockies Museum Annex at Centennial Airport. Great bunch of people and some very interesting aircraft. There were lots of activities for the kids too, including a paper airplane competition and assorted simulator experiences. Malcolm our mascot made an appearance along with his little sister Olive.

Here’s a rescue we did in the Mooney a few weeks ago that I forgot to post. It was a litter of 6 Feist puppies who had been horribly neglected. It’s a fairly rare breed mix related to the Manchester Terrier. They are a very high energy dog used for hunting and are willing to take on much larger animals. It is where the term “FEISTY” comes from. These guys will end up in homes as family, NOT as hunting dogs. They all had skin problems but should be fine. My favorite was a little girl with a heart shaped mark on her forehead. They named her Heartly!
