I left off a picture from our Wings over the Rockies fly-in. Please don’t notice the banner misspelled MalcoLm! Here he is making a rare personal appearance! Luckily, he didn’t notice.

We made an appearance at the Wings Over the Rockies Museum Annex at Centennial Airport. Great bunch of people and some very interesting aircraft. There were lots of activities for the kids too, including a paper airplane competition and assorted simulator experiences. Malcolm our mascot made an appearance along with his little sister Olive.

We had another rider with us Saturday who we failed to cover. Her name was Bettina, a beautiful German Shepherd who was pretty fearful. We took her to Tulsa from Hereford,TX. where a master dog rescue travel agent Brenda Walsh arranged a three legged relay with the help of pilot Julie Toering Schrey who flew her to Quincy, IL in her Beechcraft Bonanza. From there she went with pilot Neal to her destination Appleton, WI. I’m sure she will be a wonderful addition to a family who can show her love and help her learn to trust humans again.

Kevin and I flew from Denver to Hereford TX and picked up 7 big pups then to Tulsa to pick up 7 more We dropped off the Tulsa dogs in Denver then headed to Grand Junction to drop off the Hereford dogs. It was a perfect day for flying! No weather to speak of and mostly smooth rides.

Here’s a rescue we did in the Mooney a few weeks ago that I forgot to post. It was a litter of 6 Feist puppies who had been horribly neglected. It’s a fairly rare breed mix related to the Manchester Terrier. They are a very high energy dog used for hunting and are willing to take on much larger animals. It is where the term “FEISTY” comes from. These guys will end up in homes as family, NOT as hunting dogs. They all had skin problems but should be fine. My favorite was a little girl with a heart shaped mark on her forehead. They named her Heartly!
