2/18/2026 5:30am - The McKenzie County Public School District #1 will implement a late start and begin school at 10:00 AM today, February 18th, 2026, for all school buildings due to current winter weather and road conditions.

The doors of all school buildings will open at 9:20 AM and breakfast will be offered to students. Buses will run where possible; Harlow's Bus Service will use the Bus Bulletin system to notify specific bus route families of possible changes to routes, please check the website for revised bus pick-up times due to the late start. The school district may adjust its plan based on changing conditions; any changes will be communicated in the same manner as this alert.

Today's is Manuela Leon Jansasoy🌟 Manuela has lived in Watford City for 4 years. Before moving to Watford, she lived in Colombia, Texas & Louisiana.

A glimpse into her day: After school, she used to work at KidStop, but now works at the coffee shop in the Rough Rider Center and helps out with sporting events.

Future Plans: Attend UND for a degree in the medical field.

Today's is Rhianne Pauline Mae Calicdan 🌟 Rhianne Pauline Mae has lived in Watford City for 7 years. Before moving to Watford, she lived in the Philippines, then lived in Williston for three years before finally moving to Watford.

A glimpse into her day: After school, she works as a KidStop teacher.

Future Plans: To college for Bachelor of Science in Nursing and continue her masters degree to become a CRNA.

Favorite Movie: Rise of the Guardians

Favorite Place: Osaka, Japan and the Banff National Park in Canada

A glimpse into her day: After school, she works at KidStop. Than spends most of her weekends hanging out with friends or family and practicing music.

Future Plans: She plans on attending college for Music and Law.

Favorite Movie: Nightmare before Christmas or Coraline.

Favorite Place: Florida

Favorite Food: Chicken Alfredo and chicken gnocchi soup.
