Now accepting limited short-term therapy openings with Abe, our mental health student!

Abe will be with Maine Children’s Home for 10 weeks this fall and is available to support clients who may benefit from focused, short-term services. Short-term therapy can be a helpful option when you are looking for support around a specific concern, hoping to build practical coping skills, or waiting for longer-term therapy.

What to expect:
Sessions are time-limited, with services lasting 10 weeks or less. The focus is on building useful tools, increasing clarity, finding relief, and identifying next steps. Short-term therapy is not meant to replace long-term therapy when ongoing support is needed, but it can offer meaningful support during a challenging season.

Interested?
If you or a family member are in need of support and think short-term therapy with Abe may be a good fit, please reach out to Maine Children’s Home by emailing [email protected] and complete a referral form with our counseling department.

Please include that you are interested in working with our intern, Abe. Spots are limited, so we encourage interested clients to reach out soon!

A Note from Abe:
"My name is Abe Feigenbaum. I am a third-year graduate counseling student at the University of Southern Maine. I work with adolescents and adults using an integrative approach grounded primarily in existential, humanistic, and solution-focused therapies. I am especially interested in working with individuals navigating life transitions and experiencing stress. My preferred modalities include motivational interviewing and recreational therapy."

"Before entering the counseling field, I spent many years working as a fisherman and fish buyer. I enjoy sports, gardening, and writing music. I bring a collaborative, down-to-earth style to the clinical space and believe counseling should balance thoughtful exploration with practical problem-solving. I am currently completing my clinical training under the supervision of licensed professionals at USM and Maine Children's Home."
