Open to children ages 6 to 14 at Waterworks Park, the City of Waterville, Ohio's final fishing derby promises to be the best yet, with a cash raffle, gift certificate prizes, and fishing rods, tackle and other goodies donated by area businesses.

“Please come and enjoy. It doesn’t cost anything. And even if you don’t catch anything, you will get a prize,” said organizer Jodi Shaneyfelt.

There also will be a drone demonstration by City of Waterville Fire Department and City of Waterville Police Department, a rope making activity led by members of Scout Troop 101 members, plus plenty of food and fishing.

The event takes place at Waterworks Park, 231 S. River Road, where families can enjoy a playground and access to the Maumee River. Participants should bring their own fishing rod and tackle, but bait will be provided. To register, visit waterville.org.

It’s amazing what a little (or a lot in this case) elbow grease can do! Thanks to club members Gordon Rhoades and Jeff Baden for restoring our club bell to this glorious shine. Past President Chris Cheney put them up to the task, and the results speak for themselves. Well done! 🤩 

Sunglasses are now required equipment at future meetings. 😎

Still reflecting on a great 2026 Rotary Blues, Brews, and Brats, and simply MUST thank the local support of Waterville Mayor Tim Pedro, the City of Waterville, and our incredible Waterville Police and Fire Departments. We are beyond grateful for everything you did to make this year's event a safe, welcoming, and successful event!
