Meet Our 2026 Leadership Team!
Last night, we held our Annual Board Meeting, where we elected our new Board Officers for the upcoming year.
🔹 Drake Zimba – President
Drake is a real estate investor, and involved with an AI Startup right here in Waterville. He also previously served as Executive Director of Habitat and brings a wealth of experience, vision, and passion to this role.
🔹 Skip Pratt – Vice President
Skip has been a dedicated part of Habitat for many years, serving as our Construction Manager and playing a key role in completing and overseeing our most recent home build. We are excited to have him continue serving as Vice President.
🔹 Evelyn Townsend – Treasurer
Evelyn is a local business owner in Waterville and has been an active member of the Habitat board and Fundraising Committee. Her business and accounting background as well as her commitment to our mission make her a valuable part of our leadership team.
🔹 Deb Hacskaylo – Secretary
Deb continues in her role as Secretary and has been a longtime member of Habitat. She also serves as Chair of our Home Selection and Family Support Committee and brings extensive experience from her career in the mortgage industry.
🔹 Jonathan Irwin – Executive Director
Jonathan has been serving as Executive Director and has focused on strengthening and growing the organization through new initiatives, fundraising campaigns, community outreach, and operational improvements. In addition to his role with Habitat, Jonathan is a local business owner and business instructor!
We would also like to thank all of our board members, committee members, volunteers, donors, and supporters for everything you do to make our mission possible. Your dedication helps us continue serving families throughout our community.
A special thank you goes out to our former Board President, Robin SamalusGetchell , whose leadership played a tremendous role in helping rebuild and strengthen our organization. As she focuses on the continued growth of The Robin’s Nest and the opening of her third location, she is passing the torch to our new President. We are incredibly grateful for her service and commitment to Habitat.
We would also like to thank Max Hopper for his service as Treasurer and for everything he contributed to the organization during his time on the board.
I also want to give a special shoutout to the Kennebec Valley Board of Realtors and the many local Realtors who continue to support our mission year after year. Your partnership, advocacy, and generosity have made a tremendous impact on our organization and the families we serve.
The future is bright at Habitat! We are excited about the leadership, ideas, and momentum this team brings as we continue working to grow our impact, serve more families, recruit more volunteers, and expand affordable housing opportunities throughout our community.
🏌️ Don’t forget! Our Annual Golf Tournament is coming up on August 6th at Natanis Golf Course. We still have team spots available, along with hole sponsorship opportunities.
