Venturing is a fun-filled youth leadership development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 13 and have completed the eighth grade, or age 14 through 20 years of age. Venturing is organized and executed by the youth for the youth. Troop 496 has some openings for our Summer 2024 Swamp Base Trek down in Louisiana. We have openings for Scouts and adults. Scouts must be between the ages of 14 and 20 at the start of the Trek. The Trek is from June 25-July 7, 2024. The fee is $1,350.00 per person and covers, all meals on way down and back, fuel as we drive down and back, lodging on way down and back, museum and other location visits, a gift in New Orleans as well as a gift from scout store at Swamp Base plus a water bottle and trek shirt. The fee also covers the Swamp Base Trek fee itself. This is my 3rd trip to Swamp Base, and I love it. It is one of the most beautiful places I have been. The staff is beyond amazing as well.
