Elon University graduate Betsy Schlehuber ’25 has earned second place in the national Hearst Journalism Awards feature writing competition for her multimedia story, “The Autistic Experience at Elon University”. Drawing from her lived experience as an Autistic individual, Schlehuber centered neurodiverse student voices to highlight the complexities of navigating higher education.

The Elon graduate has been recognized nationally for her deeply reported multimedia feature, “The Autistic Experience at Elon University,” which centers the voices of autistic and neurodiverse students.
