A recent wind storm caused significant damage to our flag pole at Brookside Cemetery, but thanks to the hard work and generosity of several dedicated individuals, Old Glory is flying proudly once again.

A huge thank you to Scott Simmons of Burrville Power for finding and donating the lamp pole that was converted into our new flag pole. We are incredibly grateful for your support.

Special thanks also go out to FF Dibble for allowing us to utilize his garage to refurbish and repaint the pole. We also appreciate FF Carpenter for the use of his trailer to transport it.

Finally, thank you to Captain Mullin, FF K. Beach, Chief Wiley, Captain Siver, FF Dibble and FF T. Docteur for their hard work getting the pole installed and back in operation.

Projects like this are a reminder of what can be accomplished when people come together for a common purpose. Thank you all for your time, effort, and dedication!

Last night, we had the honor of sharing dinner at the fire station with an incredible young man whose strength and resilience continue to inspire everyone around him. He has endured cancer and multiple surgeries related to his cancer, yet he still carries a smile that lights up the room.

This visit was especially meaningful for us because we first had the privilege of hosting him back in 2019 through the Children’s Miracle Network. Seeing him again tonight and witnessing how far he’s come was truly special for our crew.

Tonight we presented him with a plaque and a job shirt to show our continued support to him and his family.

Moments like these remind us what community is all about — supporting one another through the toughest battles and celebrating every victory along the way.

You may have noticed that our outdoor night lights were turned red recently. Last week was “Light the Night” sponsored by the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation to honor fallen firefighters and their families. This event coincides with the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial weekend held May 2-3.

Big thanks to 🥊 Watertown Area Boxing Club and 🚒 City of Watertown Fire Department for selecting Children's Miracle Network of NNY to benefit from the recent Battle of the Badges boxing event. WFD's own Seth Foster won the event and visited Samaritan with Coach Johnny Pepe to present a check for $750 to support local kids.

100% of all donations to CMN stay at Samaritan to improve and enhance pediatric care and provide financial assistance to local families with a child facing a medical crisis.
