At 06:42 this morning, Northpole was dispatched automatic mutual aid to Calcium for a reported structure fire at Walmart. Employees reported a fire in the rear storage area of the building.

Chief 3 was the first to arrive on scene and found that a fire involving one of the movable storage racks had already been extinguished by employees using a portable fire extinguisher. Crews from Northpole and Calcium worked together to secure the power and check for any fire extension.

At 16:43, Northpole was dispatched for a two-car motor vehicle accident with a reported possible entrapment. Engine 1 responded and arrived on scene, determining there was no entrapment; however, three patients were involved.

Due to the number of patients and time of day, Calcium Fire was requested to respond with an engine to supplement manpower, and Guilfoyle was requested to provide additional ambulances. Crews from all agencies worked together to assist the patients, stabilize the vehicles, and clear debris from the roadway.

Also assisting on scene were the New York State Police, VanTassel’s Towing, and Ray’s Towing.

Crews operated on scene for approximately 45 minutes before returning to service.
