Watertown Sunrise Rotary proudly presented three Paul Harris Fellow Recognitions during the inaugural Paul Harris Fellow & Rotary Foundation Dinner earlier this month at the Hilton Garden Inn.
This year’s event was held jointly with the Watertown Noon Rotary Club, honoring those who have truly helped make a difference in our community.
We were honored to have Barbara Fisk, Rotary District 7040 Foundation Chair, as our guest speaker, providing an overview of the good work done throughout District 7040.
Honored were Sunrise Rotary Club Immediate Past President Laura Nicol, Bankers Life financial planner; Sunrise Rotary Club Secretary Ken Eysaman, Northern New York Community Foundation director of communications; and Community Service Honoree John Morgia Sr., founder of the community organization Jefferson County Businesses Against Drugs.
Honored from the Watertown Noon Rotary Club were: Tom Carlisle and Paul Trimper, each earning their first Paul Harris Fellow; Michelle Carpenter, earning her second Paul Harris Fellow; Maureen Cean, Beth Linderman, and Tom Deuson, each earning their third Paul Harris Fellow; Tom Carman, earning his fourth Paul Harris Fellow; and Marsha Anderson, earning her seventh Paul Harris Fellow.
The Paul Harris Fellow recognition acknowledges individuals who contribute, or who have contributions made in their name, of $1,000 to The Rotary Foundation.
Rotary established the recognition in 1957 to encourage and show appreciation for substantial contributions to what was then the Foundation’s only program, Rotary Foundation Fellowships for Advanced Study, the precursor to Ambassadorial Scholarships.
Congratulations to this year’s honorees!
