Safe Families for Children - Jefferson & Dodge Counties Safe Families for Children (SFFC) is a movement fueled by radical hospitality and intentional compassion to support families facing social isolation.

SFFC connects parents to a network of support through family-like relationships with vetted volunteers. SFFC partners with churches, local community agencies, volunteer families as well as government organizations across the country. The SFFC network provides essential extended family-like relationships to nearly 1,000 children and families annually.

We would like to extend a thank you to the Celebrate Children Foundation for the grant that allowed us to share the book "It Takes a Forest" with the families and volunteers we work with in our chapter.

Children's books do so much more than encourage early literacy; they create intentional moments of closeness. When parents and children read together, they build the vital emotional connections that strengthen families.

This beautiful story also reminds us of how vital a community is in supporting every family.

We are hiring!!

The Program Manager is a blended, part-time role.

It carries operational oversight of Safe Families relationships in Jefferson County and Janesville, and — beginning January 1, 2027 — it grows the local volunteer and church network that makes those relationships possible. On the Services side (65%), this person supervises and supports Family Coach volunteers from intake through closure. From January 1, 2027, it will also add the Volunteer Engagement role itself: recruiting and onboarding new volunteers, coaching Ministry Leads, building relationships with local churches, and keeping existing volunteers connected and encouraged.

The ideal candidate will live in the Whitewater and/or the surrounding area for easy access to Janesville and Fort Atkinson.

The Treasure Hunt is back. 🗺️

Strong Tower Gaming Convention opens tomorrow at 10 AM — and so does the Safe Families for Children Treasure Hunt. Fourteen challenges. Pick up your card at the Registration Table.

A few of them:
🎲 Play a game you've never heard of
🎨 Try the Paint-n-Take
🏰 Find a vendor item with a castle on it
📸 Post a photo with
💚 Stop by the Safe Families for Children table
✅ Finish 10–12 → instant prize
🏆 Finish 13–14 → instant prize plus a drawing entry

Drawing prizes: a badge to the 2027 convention, $50 consignment store credit, or 30 raffle tickets. Winners announced Sunday between 9 and 11 AM — you have to be there to win.

Strong Tower Gaming Convention is next weekend — Sept 11–13 — and all proceeds go to Safe Families for Children Wisconsin. Not one program. Not one region. The whole state.

What a day! 💙 We’re so grateful to everyone who came out to support Safe Families for Children and make this year’s Clay Shoot such a success.

A few high lights from our event earlier this month:
👥 11 teams came out to play and support the cause
🍽️ Many more joined us simply for lunch and good company
🎟️ So many people got in on the fun with our raffle prizes and silent auction
🎉 And the biggest highlight of all… we doubled what we raised last year!

That incredible milestone wouldn’t have been possible without our participants, sponsors, donors, volunteers, and everyone who helped make the day so special.

Thank you for showing up, having fun, giving generously, and believing in what we do.
Our families and children are forever grateful for the direct impact your support has on them.
