Happy Holidays from all of us at Priority Wellness Campaign 🎄

To those working today, those just coming off shift, and those finally getting a moment to rest, we’re thinking of you.

The holidays can be full of connection, tradition, and joy, but they can also bring long shifts, heavy calls, and little time to pause. However this season looks for you, please know your dedication, sacrifice, and humanity do not go unnoticed.

Thank you for the care you give, the calm you bring, and the strength you show, even on the days it feels quiet or unseen.

Wishing you moments of peace, safety, and rest this holiday season.

You deserve them.

The holidays can add an extra layer of weight for first responders.

Long shifts, disrupted routines, family obligations, and the emotional carryover from the job doesn’t pause just because it’s December.

That’s why our text line exists.

It’s a confidential, peer-supported space for first responders who need to talk, whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or just need someone who understands the realities of this work. You don’t have to be in crisis. You don’t need the right words. You don’t have to have it all figured out.

Sometimes the hardest part of this season is carrying everything quietly.

If the holidays feel heavier this year, support is available.

On your terms.

When you’re ready.

“On the twelfth day of support, PWC shared with me…
…twelve reasons to reach out if you need to.”

Because the job is heavy.
Because holidays are complicated.
Because stress accumulates.
Because talking helps.
Because you deserve support.
Because connection matters.
Because fatigue is real.
Because emotions need space.
Because someone understands.
Because hard days happen.
Because help is available anytime.
Because you’re not alone.

Our text line is a confidential way for first responders to reach out when they need support.

Whether you’re having a hard day, feeling overwhelmed, or just need someone who understands the job, you can text us to connect with trained peer support.

There’s no pressure, no judgment, and no requirement to be in crisis.

It’s simply a place to talk, be heard, and not carry everything alone.

Support is available, on your terms, when you’re ready.

“On the eleventh day of support, PWC shared with me…
…eleven reminders that you’re human first.”

You’re allowed to feel tired.
To feel stressed.
To feel overwhelmed.
To need support.
To take breaks.
To step back.
To rest deeply.
To care for yourself.
To feel emotions fully.
To ask for help.
To be supported in return.

Your humanity is not separate from your service, it’s central to it.

“On the tenth day of support, PWC shared with me…
…ten seconds to check in on someone.”

In this line of work, everyone carries more than they say, especially during the holidays. And while big conversations matter, sometimes all it takes is a quick moment to remind someone they’re seen.

A short text.
A quiet “you good?”
A simple check-in between calls.

Ten seconds can open a door.
Ten seconds can make someone feel less alone.
Ten seconds can change the tone of someone’s entire shift.

Support doesn’t have to be complicated.

Sometimes it’s just showing up, even briefly.

“On the ninth day of support, PWC shared with me…
…nine moments of gratitude.”

Gratitude doesn’t erase stress, but it can anchor you during difficult weeks.

Look for nine small moments today, a steady shift, a quiet drive, a warm meal, a supportive coworker, a message from home, a moment of laughter, a breath of relief, a job well done, or simply the chance to reset.

Small moments add up.

So do small acknowledgments.

“On the eighth day of support, PWC shared with me…
…eight hours of rest, whenever you can get them.”

Let’s be honest: eight uninterrupted hours of sleep in this line of work is basically a holiday miracle. Between calls, shift changes, family obligations, and the general chaos of December, rest doesn’t exactly show up on schedule.

But here’s the thing, it still matters.
Even if it’s broken up.
Even if it’s a nap in the middle of the afternoon.
Even if it’s you finally knocking out the second you sit down for “just a minute.”

Rest isn’t weakness.
It’s maintenance.

Take it whenever it shows up, even if it looks nothing like the sleep schedule your doctor keeps telling you about.

You spend all day protecting others.
You’re allowed to recharge, too.

On the seventh day of support, PWC shared with me…
…seven words to check in: “Hey, how are you holding up today?”

It’s not fancy.
It’s not clinical.
It’s not a wellness worksheet.

It’s just seven simple words that cut through the noise of a busy shift, a long night, or a heavy week.

A quick check-in between calls.
A text during a slow minute.
A quiet moment in the bay.

These small touchpoints matter more than people realize, they give someone permission to exhale, even for a second.

Seven words.

One human moment.

That’s all it takes to remind someone they’re not carrying everything alone.

“On the sixth day of support, PWC shared with me…
…six feet of space, if you need it.”

There are days when the job feels a little too close, too many people in your bubble, too much noise, too much going on at once. And honestly? Sometimes you just need a few steps of breathing room before you can think straight.

Maybe it’s after a tough call.
Maybe it’s while everyone’s talking over each other in the station.
Maybe it’s because you’ve been shoulder-to-shoulder with the same crew for 14 hours and you’d like to stand alone for 30 seconds.

Taking space isn’t dramatic.
It’s practical.

A quick step back so your brain can reset is sometimes all it takes to get through the next part of your shift.

Six feet isn’t distance from your team, it’s giving yourself a moment so you can keep showing up.

“On the fifth day of support, PWC shared with me…
…five minutes to decompress.”

The jump from a Delta response to “okay, now go be a regular person again” is… let’s just say not a smooth transition. One minute you’re dealing with the kind of call that spikes everyone’s heart rate, and the next you’re supposed to act like it’s just another Friday in December.

Spoiler: your brain does not switch gears that fast.

That’s why five minutes matters.
Sit in your car.
Stand outside the station.
Hide in the world’s most underrated wellness location, the quiet hallway.

Wherever it is, give yourself a moment before diving into whatever the rest of your day expects from you.

It’s not selfish.
It’s not extra.
It’s a reset your mind and body actually need, especially this season.
