Thrive Wellness and Recovery, Inc. Foundation will host “Reframed: An Art Show for Recovery” on September 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Strand Theatre.

They are also looking for submissions of approximately 5-8 art pieces in accessible price ranges to be included in the silent auction.

From prehistoric cave paintings, multi-million dollar contemporary sculptures, to the legendary pop culture painting Dogs Playing Poker, canines have served as symbols of fidelity, markers of social status, and artistic muses for thousands of years.

The NCAC honors Tim Curry, the legendary British actor who defined unapologetic theatricality, most notably for his groundbreaking role as Frank-n-Furter in Richard O'Brien's The Rocky Horror Show and its pop culture follow up, The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Beyond this iconic performance, he captivated audiences across genres, starring as the scheming Rooster in Annie, the mastermind butler Wadsworth in Clue, and the terrifying Pennywise in the TV miniseries It. His theatrical triumphs also graced the finest stages, earning him widespread acclaim as Mozart in the original Broadway cast of Amadeus and as King Arthur in Spamalot.

Even after a 2012 stroke altered his speech and mobility, Curry's dedication to his craft never wavered, and he continued to contribute prolifically to the arts as a voice actor with more than 100 film, TV, and video game credits. Throughout his life, he fiercely protected the mystery of his craft and personal life, famously writing in his 2025 memoir Vagabond, "I have loved and been loved. The rest is none of your business."

His versatility and artistic bravery will continue to inspire creators across the North Country and the entire creative community.

​From the timeless storytelling in her songwriting to her magnetic presence on stage and screen, her creative work demonstrated the profound ability of the arts to connect us across backgrounds, generations, and cultures.

​As an arts organization, we particularly honor her revolutionary commitment to community and expression through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. By putting millions of books directly into the hands of children, she fostered early creativity, nurtured young imaginations, and championed the foundational belief that everyone deserves free, open access to stories.
