SoZo is growing!

Through our Seed to Supper program, youth have been learning hands-on gardening and sustainability skills by caring for a worm compost system, creating natural fertilizer, and using it to help their plants thrive. Recently, students repotted their spider plant babies that have been flourishing with the compost they created themselves.

Thanks to support from the Youth Philanthropy Council of the Northern New York Community Foundation, youth are gaining hands-on experience in sustainability and gardening while building responsibility, patience, and confidence along the way.

Fresh food, local flavor, and hands-on learning are coming to SoZo Teen Center!

Join us Tuesday, June 16th at 4 PM for a special Nutrition Education session with Natalia Putnam, SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator with Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County!

Natalia will be sharing:
🌽 The benefits of eating local
🥬 Tips for shopping at summer farmers markets
🍓 A live food demonstration using fresh local produce

This is a great opportunity for youth to learn practical nutrition skills, explore healthy foods, and connect with resources right here in our community.

CALLING ALL YOUNG ARTISTS!

CHJC’s SoZo Teen Center is looking for colorful, healing-themed artwork created by teens for our Youth Voices: Color Our Clinic Art Competition, with submissions due before June 19th.

Winning artwork will be featured in the Lowville Clinic lobby, earn a gift card, and be featured in an Artist Spotlight!
Additional pieces may be displayed throughout the clinic.

Open to SoZo teen members | Any medium welcome

This Memorial Day, we honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. SoZo Teen Center will be closed on Monday, May 25, to remember their courage and service.

SoZo is hosting Amelia Worden, Youth & Young Adult Employment Program Coordinator at The WorkPlace Youth Programs, today at 3:30 PM to talk with youth about the Summer Youth Employment Program. This is a great opportunity for youth interested in building work experience, earning money, and preparing for future employment.
