5th/6th Grade Boys and Girls Basketball Registration is NOW OPEN!

LESS THAN 2 WEEKS LEFT TO REGISTER!

You have seen the announcements and heard the rumblings! Indian Creek Rec (soon to be a part of Timberwolf Recreation) is proud to announce a basketball league for our 5th and 6th grade boys and girls. It will be a LOCAL league, with games being played in our home gyms of ICHS and ICMS on Saturday mornings! And even more great news: our league is filling up fast with other local teams joining in. We are very excited to launch this program!

This is a developmental league for boys and girls with an interest in playing basketball. There will be no end of season tournament

This 6-week basketball league provides an excellent opportunity for 5th and 6th grade athletes to come together, compete, and build lasting friendships. The alternating weekly location schedule ensures fairness and convenience for all teams while the proposed game structures have been designed to maintain balanced competition for both boys and girls. Each Saturday will have up to 10 exciting games, with enough time for warm-ups, team changes, and recovery.

We are excited to kick off the season and create an enjoyable basketball experience for all athletes involved!

Hello Waterman Rec Families,

We are excited to announce that we are able to host a small Fall Rec. league this year! This league is ONLY for players who were in B ball during the spring and those who will be entering B ball in the spring of 2026. The league will run from 9/6/2025-10/11/2025 and games will be held on Saturday afternoons. The cost is $50 per player (Shirt and hat included). Practices will most likely start a week or two prior to the start of games on 9/3/2025. This is a league for fun. There will be no tournament. Registration is now open and will stay open until 8/10/2025. NO late registration will be accepted due to the need to create teams and order jerseys prior to 9/1/2025.

📣 Exciting News for Our Community! 🎉

We’re thrilled to announce that Waterman Summer Recreation and Indian Creek Recreation are officially merging to form Timberwolf Recreation – a single, stronger organization dedicated to bringing the best in softball, baseball, basketball, and T-ball to our community! 🙌

By joining forces, we’re combining our resources, volunteers, and passion for youth sports to offer:
✅ More streamlined registration
✅ Better facilities and equipment
✅ One supportive, family-friendly league for all players

This merger means more opportunities for our kids and families to play, grow, and connect through the sports they love – from first swings in T-ball to competitive league play in softball, baseball and basketball. 🧢🥎⚾🏀

Thank you to everyone who has supported both organizations over the years – we can’t wait for you to be a part of this exciting new chapter!

👉 Join us August 5th at 7pm at the Resource Bank Quilhot Schoolhouse located at 102 Indian Road, Shabbona. We will be having an informational meeting immediately followed by the voting in of the new Executive Board members. This is a public meeting for the community to see how this will be a positive change and make it easier to volunteer for the greater good of our youth!

We’re conducting a survey to gauge participation interest in Fall Baseball for the 10U age group only. If your child is interested in playing, please let us know as soon as possible. We’re also looking for potential coaches, so if you’re interested in helping out, we’d love to hear from you!

Due to planning needs, we ask that you please complete the survey by the end of the day Sunday, July 20th.

We are reaching out to all of our Waterman Rec families to help us find volunteers to support the 2025 Waterman Lions Summerfest.

Volunteers are needed for the following days and times:

When: July 18th-20th

FRIDAY, JULY 18TH:
Set up 8:00 a.m.

SATURDAY, JULY 19TH:
Vendors from 7-9 a.m. (1)
Hearing Bus 9-4 a.m. (1) Maybe
Tractor Registration 7-10 a.m. (1)
Barrel Train Driver 1 hour shifts (4 hours)
Concession 11-1 (4 volunteers)
Evening food sales (5 volunteers)

SUNDAY, JULY, 20TH:
Clean up 8:00 a.m.

Fall softball is a more laid-back season, but is truly a great season to participate in, especially if your girl is moving up a division. It allows for the girls to get adjusted to the new rules, pitching distance, hitting, and more.
