Today’s beautiful golf weather is the perfect time to highlight our Ninth Annual St. Paddy's Day 5K Walk/Run Rainbow Sponsors, Acorns Golf Links and the Mandy Ebeler Foundation. The Acorns family have long been supporters of our mission to bring a community pool back to Waterloo. Now they have set up a foundation that honors Mandy through lifting up these underfunded sports and the local youth that compete in them. 🎓Mandy Ebeler Foundation Scholarship Announcement 📣

We are incredibly honored and grateful for the overwhelming response to this year’s Mandy Ebeler Scholarship. This year we received 48 applications from outstanding student-athletes in our community.

With so many deserving applicants, narrowing the selection to four recipients was extremely difficult. After careful consideration, the board felt there were two additional applicants who were truly exceptional and deserving of recognition.

Because of this, the foundation decided to award two additional scholarships this year.

The 2026 Mandy Ebeler Foundation Scholarship recipients are:

$2,500 Scholarships
• Ellie Day
• Cambry Johnson
• Derez Sayles
• Calla Epenschied

$1,000 Scholarships
• Maxwell Anderson
• Julia Wallace

Congratulations to these outstanding students. We are proud to support their continued success and honored to recognize their dedication, leadership, and commitment both in athletics and in their communities.

Thank you to everyone who applied for the four (4) $2,500 Mandy Ebeler Foundation Scholarships.

We were truly delighted by the response — 50 applications from students across four Monroe County schools. What participation!!

Recipients will be selected by the end of February and announced at the beginning of March. Applications are reviewed anonymously and presented to the selection board by reference number only to ensure a fair and unbiased process.

Thank you again to every student who applied. We look forward to announcing the scholarship recipients soon.

We are overwhelmed (in the best way) by the response to the Mandy Ebeler Foundation Scholarships this year.

Thank you to everyone who shared the opportunity, encouraged students to apply, and supported this mission. The applicants represent an incredible group of student-athletes, and choosing recipients will not be easy.

Our goal moving forward is simple: to raise even more funds so we can award even more scholarships, helping ensure youth have access to sports regardless of financial barriers.

🎄 Merry Christmas from the Mandy Ebeler Foundation 🎄

As we celebrate this season of giving, we are reminded that it has been just over a year since we lost Mandy. While the holidays can carry a mix of emotions, they also remind us of the incredible love and support that surrounds this foundation.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who participated in our first golf tournament — our sponsors, volunteers, donors, and community members who showed up in ways that truly mattered. Because of your generosity, we are building something meaningful in Mandy’s name.

Every dollar raised, every hour volunteered, and every act of support goes toward what this foundation was created for: supporting young athletes in underfunded sports who deserve the opportunity to grow, compete, and believe in themselves. As we begin reviewing scholarship applicants, we are continually reminded why this mission matters and how powerful a community can be when it comes together.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re celebrating the heart of our community by giving back to the youth who inspire us every day. 👟💙

The Mandy Ebeler Foundation is honored to announce that we will be awarding four $2,500 scholarships to Monroe County athletes in 2026. 🌟🎓

These scholarships reflect Mandy’s legacy—lifting others, supporting local youth, and strengthening the future of our community.

The scholarship application is now open, and a copy will also be available at each local high school within Monroe County.
