Saint Vincent de Paul Outreach Office
St Vincent de Paul was born in 1581 in the village of Pouy, France. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul was founded in 1833 by Frederic Ozanam to help impoverished people living in the slums of Paris. He was beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1997.
Inspired by Gospel values, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men to join together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering.
Organized locally, Vincentians witness God's love by embracing all works of charity and justice. The Society collaborates with other people of good will in relieving need and addressing its causes, in them, Vincentians see the face of Christ. The members and volunteers reach out to the most vulnerable in our community through our Conferences, Special Works and St. Vincent de Paul thrift stores.
The Society is dedicated to feeding, clothing, housing and healing individuals and families in our community who have no where else to turn for help. As important, SVdP provides meaningful opportunities for volunteers to serve their neighbors in need with love and compassion. We provide help for people's physical, mental, and spiritual needs. By doing this with care and respect, we show them that they matter and they are children of God. Members and volunteers assist people in need and do not discriminate against cultural, religious or political beliefs.
