Ways to participate can be easy and effective: letters to legislators asking for support for radon laws, letters to newspapers urging the testing of homes, conversations with your doctors, neighbors, friends, families, insurance agents, bankers, realtors and builders. "Because of the large population at risk and the widespread potential for protracted exposures, residential radon decay products are likely the leading environmental cause of cancer mortality in the United States and the seventh leading cause of cancer mortality overall," said Dr. Bill Field.
