Relay For Life of Monroe County, IL

Relay For Life of Monroe County, IL At Relay, teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Because cancer never sleeps, Relays are overnight events up to 24 hours in length.

As we close out our 2012 season, we wanted to share an update on our Relay For Life Founer, Dr. Gordy Klatt:

"I'm doing well but still weak. It's a struggle eating right now but improving daily. I'll be starting another 3 rounds of chemotherapy in a few weeks. The pathology report after surgery showed good margins of resection and no spread of tumor to lymph nodes. I'm starting to see a few patients in the office again. Lou is doing well.
Hope to see you soon."

Please continue to keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
