100 Neighbors Who Care

The members of 100 Neighbors Who Care Giving Circle were honored to meet one of the HNS Scholarship recipients whose award was made possible through the generosity of our members.

During our first-quarter meeting, the group voted to support the scholarship program, helping invest in the future of local students.

Seeing the impact of collective giving firsthand is a wonderful reminder of what can be accomplished when neighbors come together to make a difference.

If you or someone you know could use a little extra support, stop by HNS, 217 W. Mill Street, and take what you need.

The pantry is open to all Monroe County residents and is available to help individuals and families access food when it's needed most.

Today, we recognize Juneteenth, a day that commemorates June 19, 1865, when news of emancipation finally reached enslaved people in Galveston, Texas—more than two years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth serves as an opportunity to reflect on our nation's history and the ongoing importance of freedom, equality, and opportunity for all.

In observance of Juneteenth, House of Neighborly Service (HNS) will be closed on June 19. Regular business hours will resume the following business day.

Like HNS, the Porta Westfalica Fest is a long-standing Monroe County institution built on neighbors coming together, supporting one another, and strengthening our community.
