✏️✂️📓🖍It's August which only means one thing, it's back to school time! ✏️✂️📓🖍

Do you have a child that is deaf or hard of hearing ages 0-21? Do you often wonder about what an IFSP or an IEP or 504 is or what you need to know to better advocate for your child?

Does your child already have an IEP/504 plan and you would really love a place to organize all that paperwork?

Join EHDI and Iowa Hands & Voices for this interactive FREE New to the Journey session where you will be given a multitude of resources from Early Access, IEPs, Behavior Plans, all the way through transition services and shown how to organize all of that in your very own IEP/504 toolkit!

For this session it is suggested that you have access to your own 3 ring binder, 3 hole punch, dividers for binder, and a printer to print out different resources for your toolkit.

📣 Announcement 📣
AG Bell of Iowa has decided to end the AG Bell of Iowa chapter and join with Iowa Hands & Voices. We are excited to combine efforts! Together we are stronger 💪🏼

Most of our volunteers are involved in both non profit organizations already and we all care deeply about families of children who are deaf and hard of hearing. 🤟
This will allow us to provide more resources and expand programs. It will also help families with a central location for information.

Iowa Hands & Voices is committed to the belief that what works for your child is what makes the choice right. We will be sharing the national AG Bell resources and information for listening and spoken language.

The University of Iowa ASL Program has some great events planned next week for Deaf Awareness Week!

They will have two panel events on Zoom related to deaf/hard of hearing student's life experiences and another one about LEAD-K.
It will be signed in ASL with voice interpretation and is available for the public to watch.

Excited to announce that the LEAP program is expanding to include a middle school group!

LEAP is BACK!

AG Bell is excited to expand our new Learning Experience and Adventure Program (LEAP) for middle school students who are deaf and hard of hearing! This FREE online program will help students gain confidence in virtual environments, develop stronger leadership skills, and connect them with new friends from across the globe.
