Last week the Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley's AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Volunteers gathered to be celebrated for their accomplishments from the year. A few highlights to share:

- We celebrated over 280 AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP Volunteers serving in Black Hawk County!
- 67 Reading Buddies, 60 Pen Pals, and 9 Classroom Helpers served students in 15 Elementary Schools across the Cedar Valley!
- 53 Tax Aide Volunteers in Black Hawk County completed over 2,000 tax returns for individuals in the community
- 15 Disaster Response Volunteers partnered with UNI’s Day of Service event to hold a Volunteer Reception Center Drill
- In addition, Volunteers gave their time at 27 other local nonprofits in the community, totaling over 9,000 hours of service!

What an incredible day celebrating the power of volunteerism in our community earlier this week! We were honored to recognize so many outstanding volunteers at the Mayors’ Volunteer and Top Teen Awards alongside the Cedar Falls, Iowa, City Government, , and City of Waterloo, Iowa - City Hall.

These honored volunteers give their time, talents, and hearts to make the Cedar Valley a stronger, more connected place for all. Thank you for the countless ways you serve and inspire others through your dedication to our community!

We had an amazing time at TechWorks yesterday! Huge thanks to our partners , Hawkeye Community College, and for bringing such fun, hands-on activities to life.

The Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley and of Northern Iowa Community Engagement hosted the Nonprofit Explor-a-Ganza this week. What a fun, intentional way for students to connect with community organizations about internships and volunteer opportunities.
