What's next for the Auxiliary, you ask? Well, we're so glad you did!

This week kicks off our annual Lights of Love campaign, with our goal set at $8,500.

Every day, L+M caregivers bring compassion and expertise to our patients and families, often after moments most of us never see.

This year, Lights of Love supports a new Staff Wellness Room at L+M: a quiet, welcoming space where nurses, physicians, EVS, and every member of our care team can pause, recharge, and return to their work renewed.

Shannon Christian, our Chief Nursing Officer, put it simply:

"This Wellness Room is more than a physical space. It is a tangible expression of support for the people who dedicate themselves to healing others. It communicates a powerful message: that the well-being of our caregivers matters."

Throughout the season, you'll have several opportunities to help us light the way:

🍝 Join us for a Italian Style Buffet Dinner Fundraiser on October 28 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Filomena’s Restaurant, Waterford. Tickets are $40 per person and can be paid for at the door using cash, credit card, PayPal or a check.

🌟 Sponsor an ornament or a light in honor or in memory of someone special, and their name will be displayed throughout the season. Christmas tree ornaments will display the sentiment and name from a tag attached to the ornament and hung on the tree. Menorah and Kinara candle sponsorships will display the sentiment and name on a placard placed in front of the sponsored candle.

🎶 Join us on Tuesday, December 8, at 5:00 p.m. in the hospital lobby as we officially light the Christmas tree and Menorah with a special musical performance and refreshments in Baker Auditorium. (Note: The Kinara will be lit on 12/26/26, coinciding with the start of Kwanzaa.)

Yes, it’s true! Tomorrow’s Sea Glass event is still ON!! We know it’s going to be icky and rainy and windy…so come spend some time in the warm and beautiful rec center with us getting a jumpstart on your holiday gifts!

We had a fantastic Patriotic Potluck Picnic at Bill and Brenda Kramer’s tonight! If you missed it, you missed a great time! But fear not…lots of opportunities coming up to join us!

Thank you so much to Bill and Brenda for hosting us, and thanks to Karen Neilan, Sue Smith and Jenn Latz for putting it all together…and to everyone who came, brought food, brought food cupboard donations, and socialized! It was great to see you all!!

It’s a beautiful day for a run! So the Auxiliary showed up at Summer Strides with a table and some carbs (candy) to fuel the runners!
