We’re looking for dessert donations—homemade or store-bought treats are all appreciated. If baking isn’t your thing, monetary donations are also welcome, and we’ll take care of picking up desserts for you.

This important demonstration helps remind the Juniors and Seniors about the dangers of impaired driving. Thank you for supporting this life-saving message!

On Wednesday a special meeting was held to vote on a new contract for Stancliff’s leased EMS staff. For over ten years the department has leased EMTs through various outside agencies. This initiative, though costly, has helped ensure we can provide timely care for the Waterford community during the hours when our volunteers are least available. For the past two years we contracted with West County Paramedics. That is, until we received notice in February that the contract would be discontinued in 60 days.

The leadership at the Stancliff Hose Company quickly put together several ideas of how to proceed and approached the Waterford Borough Council. Through an intense collaborative effort, SHC and Waterford Borough were able to create, present, and approve a new job position for the borough known as the Emergency Services Employee.

The Emergency Services Employee is a borough employee assigned to the Stancliff Hose Company’s station and will respond to medical and fire calls. The staff will be on duty from 6am to Midnight, 7 days a week. ESEs will now also be able to perform firefighting duties, filling yet another void during the daytime hours. All costs for the employee will be paid for by the Stancliff Hose Company (except Worker’s Compensation fees, which are paid for by Waterford Borough and Township as they have in the past for the volunteers).

The Stancliff Hose Company is grateful for the time and work the committee and Waterford Borough put into this project. We are also grateful to Waterford Township officials for agreeing to pick up some of the increased Worker’s Compensation expenses to cover the ESEs as firefighters. Without all the organizations involved putting the community’s safety as a priority, none of this would have been possible.
