Michigan Destination Imagination We create the next generation of innovative thinkers and leaders. Destination Imagination is active in 50 states and over 30 countries.

Destination Imagination is an exhilarating after-school activity in which students work in teams to solve mind-bending Challenges and present their solutions at Tournaments. Destination Imagination® is the world's largest creative problem-solving program and includes kindergarten through college-aged student participants. MICA participants develop life skills while solving challenges through their unique hands-on experiences in the sciences, technology, mechanics, engineering, theater, improvisation, goal setting, time and budget management, team building, and leadership. The ultimate goal of Destination Imagination® is to teach participants that through their creativity, teamwork, perseverance and a little bit of Duct Tape, they can develop creative solutions to complex problems completely on their own!

The Grosse Point Gnomes certainly gave us a performance to remember. A big shout out to their very entertaining story flowers, same elephant, and a “hippo.” They used shadows to show us a flashback and though they tried to distract us we enjoyed every minute. Great job team.

The Cosmic Cardinals blasted off with their engineering challenge this afternoon. They treated us to a performance that was as out of this world as they added weights to their “structure.” Watching them on Planet Pizza left the crowd hungry for more. Way to go team!

The Dueling Dogs from Grosse Point gave us a very appealing improv performance today. They truly went to great heights and were able to deceive us using spectacular shadows. Truthfully, there performance was a delight.

The Ravenna Elementary Fine Arts team went Coconuts today. Their explosive origin story fluttered onto the stage as we had good vs evil. Fortunately a tsunami saved the day. We were treated to a great song and dance at the end of their skit that was absolutely Coconuts. Congrats team!

We all loved the way the stage lit up when the contestants got the right answer. Great job team! I’m sure hoping you’re “Bach” next year.

The St. Matthew’s 4 Cappas were popping ridiculous this morning as they took us on a ride between fear and courage. Their story ended with peace, which without a shadow of a doubt is the best way to end.
