Hi all local Waterford Scouts!

So we have finally nailed down details for the religious emblem class schedule. Middle/high schoolers will meet on Thursdays at 4pm at Waterford Central United Methodist Church. (Room details to follow) Patty Stroup our youth group coach had graciously volunteer to host for us. I will need confirmation ASAP as to who plans to attend so I can purchase the books required. Books are $6 each for the student and another $6 for their adult mentor. Payments can be made to me for reimbursement in cash/check/venmo. Awards costs vary depending on what you want to purchase for on behalf of your youth, and what you can confirm your units may be covering on your behalf. Medals are $12.50, uniform patches $2, participant patches $5, certificates $1. Remember this is not a BSA program, any youth that wants to may choose to participate, though it does cover requirements for both BSA and Girl Scouts. https://www.praypub.org/

Hi all! As a part of my woodbadge journey I am reaching out to share with you a wonderful program created by the Chief Pontiac Programs Committee. The Little Braves patch program is an amazing way to encourage youth and their families to get outdoors by allowing them to earn progressive patches, up to 28 in all. We have used the program in Pack 61 Waterford Knudsen and have found that not only do the youth enjoy working towards completing all segments, but it also allows siblings and parents to feel included and has helped us recruit youth on several occasion’s. We’ve often used it as a way to determine the theme and activities for our yearly picnics and campouts. Patches are usually earned over ~5 yrs and the total cost is only $54 which broken down over those years is very doable budget wise. If anyone has questions or would like to know more please feel free to reach out and I will help anyway I can. (I am going to try and attach the flyer I created to this post) — feeling grateful.
