Today is Make Music Day!

Make Music Day originated as Fête de la Musique and began in France in 1982 with a simple idea: make music everywhere and make it accessible to everyone. Since then, it has grown into a global celebration observed in more than 120 countries each year on June 21.

From professional musicians to first-time performers, people of all ages are encouraged to share their talents, enjoy free performances, and experience the power of music to bring communities together.

Congratulations to the Borough of Naugatuck, Naugatuck Mayor Hess, the Naugatuck Arts Commission, and everyone involved in bringing this stunning new mural to life in the heart of downtown Naugatuck with thanks to the amazing artistic talent of ARCY!

Public art does more than beautify a space—it creates a sense of place, fosters civic pride, and invites visitors to explore all that a community has to offer. This mural is a powerful example of how arts and culture can drive downtown revitalization and strengthen community connections.

Well done, Naugatuck!
