Noise Ordinance

Due to ongoing noise complaints throughout the city, the Waterbury Police Department would like to remind residents of the City’s Noise Ordinance. We may issue Citations of $92 without us a sound meter for these violations.

Please remember:

• Be considerate of your neighbors
• Keep music, parties, and gatherings at reasonable levels
• Avoid excessive yelling, screaming, or unnecessary horn use
• Make sure dogs or other animals are not causing ongoing disturbances
• Avoid modified or excessively loud exhaust systems
• Follow permitted construction and noise hours

Daytime hours are 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM Monday through Saturday and 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM on Sunday. Nighttime hours are 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM Monday through Saturday and 10:00 PM to 9:00 AM on Sunday.
