Troop 3 Waterbury The official page for Boy Scout Troop 3 Waterbury.

We are a traditional Boy Scout troop that instills within boys, morals and values, by teaching citizenship, character and fitness through a combination of indoor learning, teambuilding, leadership development exercises all coming together in our challenging outdoor experiences.

On Aug 31, 2026 at an informal meeting of Troop 3 leadership, Anthony Guerrera, T3 committee member, presented John Shove the Veterans Service Knot. This is a new award of Scouting America is for those who served in the Military. John was Anthony’s Scoutmaster and now all serve with Troop 3. Looking on is Paul Mitnick Committee Chair and Cody Leaman Asst Scoutmaster. Scoutmaster John Leary took the photo.

It’s quite a feeling when you’re in REI and your pack and your Scoutmaster’s pack are on the wall in a vintage display. I still use my dark maroon Jansport and Bones used his red Kelty for decades.
