Rancho Folclórico Culturas de Portugal In 1996, a handful of members of the Waterbury Portuguese Sport Club, Inc. The group consists of musicians/singers and dancers.

(PSC) and its president at the time, Agustinho Cardoso, decided to get together and form a folklore group. With the aim of gathering, preserving, and teaching the traditional dances of authentic Portuguese Folklore, they named the group:

RANCHO FOLCLÓRICO “CULTURAS de PORTUGAL” from the Waterbury PSC. Through the support and initial funding of the PSC the group purchased authentic costumes from P

ortugal, which represents the Minho / Viana do Castelo region of Portugal. The group is continuously learning and growing. In turn they
love performing and spreading what they have learned through out
their Portuguese communities as well as other cultures and
nationalities.
