Waskom ISD is proud to officially introduce Mrs. Lindsey Wood, the lone finalist for superintendent, to the community. An East Texas native and graduate of Jacksonville High School, she brings a lifelong passion for public education rooted in a family tradition of educators, and we are excited to welcome her to the Wildcat family.

She comes to Waskom with 20 years of dedicated service to Texas public school students, staff, and families, including 13 years in campus and district leadership roles. Over the course of her distinguished career, she has served as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent. Throughout these roles, her focus has remained steadfast on strong instruction, student achievement, and fostering school cultures where both students and staff thrive.

"I am honored to have been named the lone finalist for superintendent of Waskom ISD and grateful for the opportunity to become part of this special community," she stated. "I lead with love, high expectations, and a deep belief in the power of public schools. I want to help build schools and districts that people want to run into, not out of."

Recognizing the immense pride that our community has in our schools and in one another, she is eager to listen, learn, build relationships, and serve right alongside our staff, students, and families as we continue moving forward together.

Outside of her professional life, family remains at the core of her world. Her husband, Tracy, spent 35 years coaching Texas high school football and baseball. Together, they are the proud parents of four adult children: Taylor and her husband, Cody; Kyle; Luke, who attends Texas A&M University; and Lorelei, who attends Texas Tech University. Mrs. Wood and her husband share their greatest joy as 'Dolly and Coach' to their grandson, Greyson.

As a district, we could not be more excited about the future. We look forward to her visionary leadership, her passion for student success, and the incredible energy she will bring to Waskom ISD as we enter this exciting new chapter.
