Here is the pattern for the ARCHA Bridleless Ranch Trail Class!

If you and your horse have been practicing without the reins, come give it a try at the Fireweed Spectacular.

It's just $25 to enter, and 100% of the entry fees go into the jackpot. Open, Amateur, and Youth riders will all compete together in one class.

Quick Rules:
• Neck ropes are allowed and may be used with one or two hands
• A bridle and reins can stay on your horse for safety
• Riders can use their seat, legs, voice, and neck rope
• Touching or using the reins results in disqualification
• Normal Ranch Trail penalties still apply
• Riders may skip an obstacle they feel is unsafe and take the appropriate penalty

Bridleless Ranch Trail will run with our Ranch Trail classes beginning Sunday at 3:00 PM.

Come have some fun, try something a little different, and see what you and your horse can do together!

Fireweed Spectacular patterns are posted!

Time to start practicing! All patterns for the August 29-30 Fireweed Spectacular are included below. (Except the NRCHA reining pattern)

And for everyone asking about our Bridleless Ranch Trail, here are the rules:

BRIDLELESS RANCH TRAIL RULES:
• Riders complete the posted Ranch Trail pattern and obstacles.
• A neck rope is allowed and may be used with one or two hands.
• Riders may use their seat, legs, voice, and neck rope to guide their horse.
• You may leave a bridle and reins on your horse for safety, but you cannot use the reins.
• Touching or using the reins during the pattern results in disqualification. (Figure out how to secure them, so they don't need adjustment)
• Normal Ranch Trail penalties apply for refusals, missed obstacles, breaking pattern, and other errors.
• Riders may choose not to attempt an obstacle they feel is unsafe and will receive the appropriate penalty for that obstacle.
• The judge may excuse any horse and rider combination that becomes unsafe or out of control.

Think you and your horse can do it without the reins? Now you have the pattern. Time to find out!

Today's the day!

Welcome to the Klondike Stakes! Good luck to everyone competing today. Whether you're here for your first run or chasing another buckle, we're glad you're spending the weekend with ARCHA.

You can still sign up for classes at the show, so if you're on the fence, come join us!

Today is also a special day for ARCHA.

After the show, please stay and help us celebrate Youth Board Member Raegan Klayum as she heads off to Texas Tech University to join the Ranch Horse Team. Raegan has been a tremendous ambassador for ARCHA and cow horse in Alaska, and we'd love to send her off with a big crowd of family, friends, and fellow competitors.

Good luck to everyone today, and we'll see you in the show pen!
