The Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce is hiring a Visitor Center Assistant for the 2026 visitor season!

🕘 Schedule: Friday–Sunday, 8:30 AM–3 PM; Monday, 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM (22.5 hours per week)
📅 Seasonal: Early May – Early October
💲 Pay: $16/hour + Contract Completion Bonus

🌟 What You’ll Do:
Be the face of Wasilla by welcoming visitors, sharing local recommendations, and helping showcase everything our community has to offer.

✅ We’re Looking For Someone Who:
✔ Is friendly, outgoing, and loves working with people
✔ Is reliable, punctual, and shows up for every scheduled shift
✔ Can work independently with minimal supervision
✔ Is organized and comfortable with basic computer tasks
✔ Has a passion for our local community

Today was filled with meaningful conversations, powerful insights, and the kind of collaboration that moves our business community forward. From impactful speakers to intentional networking, the room was full of leaders committed to strengthening the Mat-Su economy.

Grateful to spend the day alongside such an engaged and forward-thinking group. This is exactly what it looks like when a community comes together with purpose.

📢 Chamber Closure Notice

The Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce is closed today in observance of Seward’s Day.

As we prepare for the upcoming Mat-Su Spring Economic Summit, Chamber staff will have limited availability on March 30th, and our office will also be closed Wednesday, April 1st and Thursday, April 2nd for the Summit.

We will resume normal business hours April 6th.

This week, our Chamber leadership team—CEO Jessica Viera, Board Chair Tammy Hansen, and Government Affairs Chair Jackie Kenshalo—traveled to Juneau to advocate on behalf of our members and the Greater Wasilla business community.

They met with legislators to elevate the priorities that matter most to our local businesses—economic growth, workforce development, infrastructure, and a strong, sustainable business climate.
