🐾 Calling for all Jr. Iditarod memories! 🐾

As we prepare to celebrate the 50th year of the Jr. Iditarod in 2027, we’re putting together a special slideshow to honor the incredible history of this race—and we need your help!

If you have photos from the past 49 years, we’d love to see them. Whether it’s dog teams, mushers, volunteers, behind-the-scenes moments, or snapshots that capture the spirit of the race, your memories can help tell this story.

Please email your photos to: [email protected]
(Be sure to include any details you can—year, names, location, or a short description!) Don't have it digitally? Then take a shot of it with your phone camera with low overhead light and have the photo fill the frame.

If you were involved in the past (musher, volunteer, supporter), email a short quote or thoughts of your experience with Jr. Iditarod.

Let’s come together to celebrate 50 years of dedication, adventure, and community. Thank you for helping us make this milestone unforgettable!

Congratulations to this year’s recipient of the Pike Dog Wellness Humanitarian Award at the 2026 Jr. Iditarod: Keira Irish

This award recognizes a young musher who demonstrates exceptional dog care while maintaining a competitive team.
The recipient receives a $2,000 scholarship in support of their continued education and commitment to mushing excellence, along with three tickets to the Iditarod Musher Banquet in Anchorage, where they will be honored during race week.

We thank Pike Dog Wellness for their commitment through 2030 and for championing the values that keep our sport strong — integrity, responsibility, and respect for the dogs.
