Thank you to everyone who joined us for our kickoff event - “Let There Be Light – 250 Years of Windows.”🪟

We were honored to begin this year’s theme at First Lutheran Church, where guests enjoyed a fascinating look at the evolution of early log cabin window openings—from simple spaces covered with animal skins, oiled paper, or fabric—to the breathtaking stained glass artistry that fills this historic brownstone sanctuary today.

The narrated tour through this remarkable church, celebrating the 100th anniversary of its structure, offered a deeper appreciation for the history, symbolism, and craftsmanship found in its massive stained glass windows, along with the newly discovered photos, articles, and unforgettable glimpse into the crypt.

Washington County’s rich legacy of glass manufacturing and stained glass artistry continues to shine through treasured churches and historic homes.

Thank you for helping us celebrate the stories that windows tell—through light, history, faith, and craftsmanship✨

Stay tuned for our next event 🗓️

✨ Exciting updates at the John White House ✨

We are so grateful to the Furlough Into Service (FITS) community workers who are doing a beautiful renovation of the rooms damaged by roof leaks. Their hard work and care are helping restore these spaces while preserving the history and charm of this special home.
