It is such a joy and a privilege to link arms with Camp Dallas, Spring Bay IL to provide a place where every individual has "the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background, family circumstances, or life experiences. No one should ever feel too lost, invisible, burdened, insignificant, or unworthy of love."
Tonight, Charisa Studios was happy to provide headshots for Camp Dallas' Board of Directors at their very special Dedication Event.

Tonight was a pretty incredible one for the memory books. Purposed Generation had a table set up at WPEO's Open House. We were also able to provide free portraits for all attendees that wanted to stand inside a semi-inflated hot air balloon! Working alongside Kathy Arkwell and her Clydescope Balloon Team was both an honor and a blast ❤️

I was naive to think a transformation could be achieved without a price. With every life change, comes ripples of struggle. So, for those that are experiencing some kind of transformation in your life, this is for you:
You are precious. You are loved by God. He tells us, “For the Lord God is a sun and shield. No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.”
Today, I watched a miracle. But that miracle came with struggle.
I watched a Monarch butterfly struggle to break out and emerge from her chrysalis.
I watched her flop around with wet wings. She had no control over them and they were still folded and scrunched from being in the chrysalis.
I watched her struggled to climb into a position where she could allow her wings to hang down and dry. And after accomplishing that climb, she stayed there for quite a while. She took the time she needed to learn to pump wings. She let those wings dry and mature. She did not let us, her anxious audience, rush her. She never cared about the time one of my children decided to speed up the process by gently blowing on her. She didn’t pay any attention to the time one of them laughed at how gross the ink was as it dripped off the tips of her wings. She didn’t ever ponder over the monarch we discovered yesterday that was injured and didn’t make it. She was solely focused on her duties and giving herself the time she needed.
And then I watched her launch and FLY. Again, her first flight wasn’t perfect. And she didn’t go very far. But it was beautiful. And when she was ready, she tried again. This time, everything clicked and she gracefully flew away.
NOT EVERYONE IN YOUR LIFE WILL UNDERSTAND OR EVEN SUPPORT YOUR TRANSFORMATION. We are to have grace-filled lives. We are to love others. But WE ARE NOT TO ALLOW OTHERS TO INHIBIT THE CHANGES God is working in our lives. I know God’s timing was perfect for me today in allowing me to watch his creation break out and fully embrace her future. I needed the encouragement today. I hope this encourages you as well.

Our hearts break for our friends over at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service . Praying for a solution for their children's services.

Last night, our hearts were broken.

Around midnight, six youth broke into one of Peoria Friendship House’s vehicles—our primary source of transportation for the children we serve. They dismantled the steering column, leaving the vehicle inoperable.

This isn’t just damage to a vehicle. It directly impacts more than 200 children who rely on us every day. Without this bus, field trips may have to be canceled, and even our ability to pick students up from school for our after-school program is at risk.

As a nonprofit, we already work hard to stretch every dollar to serve our community. Unexpected setbacks like this are incredibly difficult and take resources away from the children who need them most.

If anyone has information about this incident, which occurred around midnight last night, we ask that you please come forward or contact local law enforcement. Even the smallest piece of information could help.

We believe our community cares deeply about its children, and we know there are far more people who want to help than hurt. Thank you for standing with Peoria Friendship House and the families we serve.
