Iris Garden Club Launches Garden of the Month Program

The Iris Garden Club of Washington, Georgia, is pleased to introduce its Garden of the Month program, an initiative designed to celebrate and recognize residents whose gardens enhance the beauty and character of our community.

This program honors homeowners and gardeners who demonstrate exceptional dedication to creating and maintaining outstanding landscapes. Selected gardens will exemplify excellence in design, planning, and upkeep while showcasing a thoughtful variety of plant materials, seasonal interest, and practices that support and protect pollinators.

Through Garden of the Month, the Iris Garden Club seeks to encourage pride of place, reward the hard work and creativity involved in gardening, and inspire others to contribute to the natural beauty of Washington.

Recipients will be recognized for their commitment to beautification, environmental stewardship, and the enhancement of Washington's unique charm.

The Iris Garden Club is also known for the beautiful floral arrangements that help brighten our community. We extend our sincere thanks to the Iris Garden Club for the stunning arrangements they provide, which serve as another example of their dedication to enhancing the beauty of Washington and Wilkes County.

🛼 Don't miss Skate the Square this Tuesday! Grab your skates and join us downtown for an evening of family fun, music, and community spirit.

This Tuesday only, be sure to enjoy some special treats while you're on the Square:

✂️🔥 POWER HOUR & RIBBON CUTTING RECAP 🔥✂️

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Washington-Wilkes Chamber Power Hour and Ribbon Cutting at Southern Chimney & Fireplace!

Guests had the opportunity to network, tour the showroom, and learn more about the many services Southern Chimney & Fireplace provides, including chimney cleaning and repairs, fireplace installations, wood stoves, and gas logs.

Shawn Lee, who started in business in 1999 as a chimney sweep at just 16 years old, shared the remarkable growth of the company over the past 27 years. What began as a seasonal operation has grown into a thriving business with 12 full-time, year-round employees.

We appreciate Southern Chimney & Fireplace for their investment in our community and for hosting a wonderful event. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped us celebrate another great local business serving Washington-Wilkes and the surrounding area.

Please join us in spotlighting The Genny, a unique addition to our Washington-Wilkes community! ✨
After purchasing the building in 2023 they decided to do something to help revitalize the square. They have evolved in the past 2.5 years from carrying solely new merchandise to now carrying vintage and antiques along with home décor.
They appreciate the network of great people they have become friends with and advise their support system is larger than what they had in Atlanta.
Their advice for future business owners:
“When you think you’ve driven as far as you need to go, drive another mile” You are almost there, you are just starting to doubt yourself.
