We've received a lot of praises from those who recently opened their mailbox to find the stunning invitation for BOOKED! - our fall fundraiser. That's why we're pleased to acknowledge the artistry of Luna Garcia (standing center between Kathryn Bassett and Ledlie Pastor at Library Luminaries in June.)
Since 2018, Luna has lived in Washington with husband Carlos and their daughter, Elle, soon-to-be age 11. Growing up in Morris, her late father, Larry Livolsi, was a sculptor and glass artist with a studio on route 109. Luna attended the Academy of Arts in San Francisco. Initially painting with oils, she later fell in love with watercolors, and enjoys employing fluid hues in nature scenes and seasonal landscapes.
Luna and her 11 year-old daughter often visit the library - which she refers to as โthe town jewel.โ โThere are so many afternoons when we cozy up in the library,โ she says. โFor children, this is a little slice of heaven.โ Now the Garcias regularly visit Gunnโs Maker Space to use its available crafting and sewing equipment.
Today Luna is often commissioned to create custom home portraits and landscapes. The artist relished the opportunity to paint the house and grounds of Ines de Seroux & Matias Santa Cruz. She adds, "Their inviting home and beautiful landscape are perfect for this fall fundraiser!"
