Dear Brothers and Friends,

It is with great sadness that we have learned of the passing of Worshipful Brother Edward Ray Edwards last evening (March 29). Please join me in extending our most sincere condolences to the family of our treasured Brother. WB Edward Ray was a Pillar of Washington Lodge #675 and a wonderful leader and mentor to all the Brothers. The Lodge will always remember the smile and encouraging spirit he brought to the Lodge. We now look forward to the day when we also hear the words that our Brother has just heard, Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joys of thy Lord, for on that day we shall see him once more.

During the past several years WB Edward Ray has made every effort to support the Lodge and those around him. He has visited with us when he did not really feel up to the task, but pushed ahead and gathered with the Craftsmen at every opportunity possible. As the days passed, we saw the slowing of his pace and the persistent eagerness to enter Lodge even though it became more difficult as each day passed. This unwillingness to allow infirmities to stand in his way is a great testimony to all that were in his presence.

Finally, at the end of his life's work, our Brother has laid aside his earthly working tools and apron, to start a new work, one that includes building Mansions and adorning the Robe of his Master. Our Brother is now in a place where the sun never sets and tears never fall.

May the Great Architect of the Universe, watch over and guard the Family, WB Edwards has left behind and may they always know, Washington Lodge #675 stands ready to aid and comfort them as he would have expected.

-Brother Aaron Warner
