Hello, Everyone! This is just a quick post to let you know that if you are wondering what sizes of hats are most needed, I am told that teen hats and child large are used the most. If anyone has hats finished, let me know. 🙂

Hello, Everyone! We certainly understand Jeannette's decision to step back from Hats for Heroes and we are grateful for her past leadership of this project. However, after discussing this with some seamstress friends and then getting Jeannette's blessing, several of us would like to try to continue this meaningful project! So.....keep on making those hats! 😁

It may take some time for us to "reorganize" but please check back here for updates. If you have hats, you may contact me (Brenda Bean) to arrange drop off. I would love to have some people or businesses who would be willing to be drop off sites in surrounding towns/cities so if you are interested in helping in this way, please let me know.

Jeannette has some fabric if anyone would like to sew it up. Eventually, I will be getting it from her but she has graciously agreed to hang onto it until I am ready to take it. If you would like to transform it into hats, please let one of us know.

If you do not sew but would like to contribute, here are some ways you can do that:
- Volunteer to cut out hats.
- Volunteer to pull elastic.
-Volunteer to be a drop off site for completed hats.
-Donate fabric, elastic, sandwich bags, or laundry soap (must be color and scent free)
-Organize a hat making workshop in your area.
-Help get the word out to sewing groups, churches, Girl Scouts, 4-H groups, etc. who might be looking for a service project.

As I said, please check back here for updates and please help spread the word!

Hello everyone one! I wanted to apologize for the lack of posts on this page and make an announcement;
A lot has changed since we first started this and we had some challenges along the way. Add in the events in my life and the result was Hats for Heroes suffered and stalled. After much thinking I came to the difficult decision to end our organization. My life is busy with 2 granddaughters now and the passing of my mother has shown me a different perspective on life and I’m working on “reorganizing.”
I want to thank each and every one of you for all you have done for the children at SFCH and know that you all did make a difference in each and every child that received one of our adorable hats! You all are amazing and I am forever grateful for your generosity!
I do have several hats still in stock and I have ok’d it with management to keep bringing in the hats until the supply runs out.
If you happen to have some hats done feel free to drop them off at my house and I will deliver them along with what I have, but as far as making any more there is no need.
And I do have plenty of material left, so in the future I will post photos of what I have and if anyone wants them, we can arrange a pick up or drop off!
Once again, thank you so very much and I was honored and always impressed at your generosity and help. God bless you all!

How’s everyone been? Now that we are starting to see some normalcy, shall we try for a workshop some time this summer? Would be great to see everyone!
