LeMoyne Community Center

LeMoyne Community Center The LeMoyne Center, offers programming
in our community five days a week. The homework part of the Homework and More program offers reading and math tutoring.

During the summer months, the LeMoyne Center runs two main programs for our youth during the year with Homework and More taking place in during the school year, and Camp Challenge in the Summer. Homework and More is an after school program that is free to students who are in the free or reduced lunch program. Our Center provides homework assitance from various college, teachers and community vol

unteers. The ability to participate in the "and more" part of the program depends upon the student finishing whatever homework is available for that day. For the "and More" part of the program, we offer as extra curricular activities such as dance, track and field, cooking classes, and music classes to name a few. We strive to build a strong foundation between the kids and the community, and offers them opportunities to participate in activities that might not other wise be possible. Camp Challenge, which is free to students on the free or reduced lunch program. Camp Challenge is an 8 week program that runs daily from 9am to 4pm, rain or shine. It is designed to empower our youth in education, sports, and recreation. Camp Challenge is a place where we can target negative areas of a youth's life and turn them into a positive with results that can be seen and felt throughout the community as well as in school. At Camp Challenge, we have exposed our kids to many areas of culture by taking our kids to every type of museum that covers history, science, social studies, math, and reading. We not only aim to give our kids a change of pace, we plan to change their pace altogether, challenging them to stop, talk, and think before reacting
