After Hurricane Katrina, Plaquemines Parish resident Peggy Martin's garden was all but destroyed, except for one resilient pink rose, later named after the dedicated gardener. This special climbing flower has now been propagated and shared all throughout the country, and acts as a powerful reminder of the resilience and endurance that our communities showed in the wake of the devastating storm. Now, Peggy's passion for gardening and her symbol of hope will be recognized statewide!
