Washington’s 10U boys came up short against Williamston 12-6, closing out their All-Star season. They finished first in the Williamston Invitational, 2nd in the District Tournament and gained a lot of valuable experience along the way. They’ll take the lessons learned from this All-Star season and use them to continue to grow as ball players. WYBL is proud of you guys!

Many thanks to our All-Star families for sacrificing so much of their summer breaks to continue practicing after the tournament was rescheduled!

Washington 8U takes a tough 3-4 loss vs, Laurinburg to end their All-Star run. The boys worked hard since the end of May and were able to come away with 2nd place in the Williamston Invitational and District Tournaments. They’ve grown tremendously and we can’t wait to see what they bring at the next level. Congratulations for making it this far and we’re proud of you!

IT’S GAME DAY!

Our 8U and 10U All-Star teams play today in the rescheduled Tar Heel Leagues, Inc. state baseball tournament in Williamston.

8U takes on Laurinburg at 11:00am and if they win would play Edenton at 2:00pm.

10U received a first round bye and plays the winner of Williamston/Laurinburg at 3:00pm.

The Washington Youth Baseball League, sponsored by Lee Chevrolet, is pleased to announce that registration for the 2026 Fall Baseball Season is now open!

The fall season provides a great opportunity for players and coaches of varying experience levels to develop their skills. We will focus on practicing fundamentals, developing pitching & catching skills for appropriate age groups, and instructional scrimmages. Fall ball will not utilize uniforms, umpires, or scorekeepers.

To help prepare players for the competitive spring season, players will participate in the division they will be eligible for in the Spring 2027 season.

REGISTRATION:

DIVISIONS:
6u Division (5-6 yr olds), sponsored by J & S Construction
8u Division (7-8 yr olds), sponsored by Flatlands Insurance Group
10u Division (9-10 yr olds), sponsored by General Maintenance
12u Division (11-12 yr olds), sponsored by Down on Mainstreet
15u Division (13-15 yr olds), sponsored by Advanced Air Solutions

SCHEDULE:
Practices begin on September 8th.
Games begin on September 28.
The season will conclude on October 23rd.

FEES:
$35 – City of Washington residents
$65 – non-City residents
(Participation fees cover per-participant fees owed to the City of Washington and cost of supplies & equipment.)

WAITLIST:
Registration is tentatively capped at 24 participants in each division, so don't wait to sign up! Those that register after the first 24 will be placed on a waitlist. We will do our best to accommodate all who register, but we must ensure we have enough coaches and we can only place a certain number of players on a team.

COACHES:
Registration for head and assistant coaches is available on the website. Please do not wait to sign up as a coach if you are interested. Please share with those you think may have interest.

***The WYBL BOD reserves the right to modify the details of the season, cap or cancel divisions due to coaching and participation levels, and make other necessary changes at any time.***

We’ve still got the rescheduled state tournament ahead of us for our 8u and 10u All-Star teams on August 15th & 16th, but fall baseball will be starting up before we know it!

Registration will begin August 1st so stay tuned to our page and our website for updates.

During the fall season, players participate in the division they will be eligible for during the spring 2027 season. We will have 6U-15U if the numbers of players and coaches allow.

Tar Heel Leagues has officially cancelled the 2026 State Baseball Tournament due to weather and field conditions. We’re disappointed, and it’s unfortunate our boys will not get to play, but we are very proud of all they’ve done this year! Keep swinging!

From Tar Heel Leagues regarding State Tournament:

In consideration of field conditions, we are canceling games for today, Friday, July 24th.

The Tar Heel Board of Directors has also switched the tournament to a single elimination format.
We have also implemented a 1 hour time limit for 8U and a 1.5 hour time limit for all other divisions.
Games will not start before noon on Saturday, July 25th.
