AID Project

AID Project AID Project was founded to promote new opportunities for economic and community development in Haiti.

On January 12, 2010, Haiti experienced a devastating earthquake that reversed much of the development and growth of the country. There are many lessons to be learned from the successes and failures of humanitarian aid and development assistance. While much of the disaster response is completed, the country still lacks sustainable engines of growth and opportunity. Donor nations and foundations hav

e promoted the role of local organizations in designing and implementing development programs. However, many structural challenges—such as the inability to successfully access or complete a grant application in English—have kept small organizations and entrepreneurs from receiving funding and advice vital to their success. AID Project seeks to support these organizations by acting as a bridge between local teams and the international community. To do this, AID Project partners with existing organizations and educational institutions to assist local civil society groups to develop leadership skills and project plans, which AID Project helps connect to donors, grant-makers, and investors.
