Around 200 visitors came to the park this afternoon for Trunk or Treat and had an up close and personal look at an alligator from The Imperial Centre for the Arts & Science, snakes from Wilmington herpetologists a blue tongued skink. Young visitors also crafted bats and ventured through the 'haunted office' since weather did not permit an outdoors haunted trail.

Make your plans to come to Goose Creek State Park on Saturday for Trunk or Treat. The time is 1:00pm to 3:00pm. There will be reptiles on display, crafts and plenty of treats. Remember to plan your travel as there is a detour to drive to the park due to the closure of Camp Leach Rd. at the US 264 intersection. The detour directs you to continue on 264 and drive towards Bath on HWY 92.

Make your plans to come to the park for Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 17th from 1:00pm-3:00pm. There will be an educational program with live native snakes, crafts and plenty of treats. Please plan ahead when you drive to the park as Camp Leach Road at US 264 is closed except for local traffic. The detour takes you to the Whitepost Community by way of HWY 92 towards Bath. Turn right on Hawkins Beach Road and then right on Camp Leach Road. The park entrance is 3 miles from the Hawkins Beach/Camp Leach intersection.

Goose Creek After Dark; the Haunted Longleaf Trail has been cancelled for Sat. Oct. 3rd due to the weather. Due to the lack of volunteers to serve as role players, the Haunted Trail will not be rescheduled for the rain date of Oct. 10th. There will be a family friendly Trunk or Treat event on Sat. Oct. 17th from 1:00-3:00pm. This event will feature educational displays including live snakes, plenty of treats and crafts.

Make your plans to come to Goose Creek State Park on Sat. Oct. 3rd for Goose Creek After Dark; the Haunted Longleaf Trail. The time is 6:00pm to 8:00pm. There is no charge for admission but please make a donation to the School Supply Drive for Beaufort County Schools. There is a suggested supply list. Please note there is a detour to the park due to the closure of Camp Leach Road from 264 East. Follow HWY 92 East towards Bath and turn right in the Whitepost Community onto Hawkins Beach Road.

As we look ahead to the spooky season, save the date for Goose Creek's Haunted Longleaf Trail on Sat. Oct. 3rd. The rain date is Sat. Oct. 10th. There is no fee for Goose Creek After Dark but please consider donating to the School Supply Drive for Beaufort County Schools.

If you would like to learn about some of the scaly and slimy Goose Creek State Park residents, make your plans to come to the Herping Hike on Monday, Sept. 28th at 1:00pm. Meet at the swim beach parking lot.
Save the Date for Goose Creek After Dark with a hike on the Haunted Longleaf Trail. The date is Sat. Oct. 3rd with Oct. 10th as the rain date. The event is free of charge, but participants are asked to bring school supplies to be donated to Beaufort County Schools.
Please note there is a detour in place to drive of the park due to the closure of Camp Leach Road. Drivers are to continue driving east and take HWY 92 towards Bath. In the Whitepost Community take a right turn on Hawkins Beach Rd. This will take you to Camp Leach Road.

After Monday, August 10th, drivers going to Goose Creek State Park will have to take a detour around a closed portion of Camp Leach Road. due to the bridge replacement on Upper Goose Creek. The detour will direct you to continue beyond Camp Leach Road onto HWY 92 East towards Bath. In the Whitepost area, you will be directed to turn right on Hawkins Beach Rd. This will take you to the opened portion of Camp Leach Road.
