The past three days our 4-H & Youth Coordinator Amy Adrian Green has been in Ames at Iowa State University, learning, laughing, sharing ideas, and reconnecting with fellow 4-H professionals from across Iowa.

This year's theme, "Connecting the Dots," was a great reminder of how all the pieces of our work come together to make a positive impact in the lives of young people.

From volunteer recruitment and leadership development to creative programming, professional growth, and Beyond Ready initiative action plans, there was plenty to take in!

After all these years in 4-H, I still love coming home with fresh ideas, renewed energy, and an even greater appreciation for the people who make this program so special. 💚

The 4-H New Year is HERE!!! Are you ready to find club?

4-H is a place for youth to make friends, find their spark by exploring areas of interest, connect with caring adults, develop life skills and belong to a community. Washington County 4-H has 20 club offerings with several specialty clubs made of youth who have common interests (see flyers included below). These clubs might be the perfect place for your student to belong!

this new opportunity is open to you too! Sign up in 4hOnline and join in with swine project members from across the state! Starts next week !

Whether you're new to showing pigs or have years of experience, the Iowa 4-H Statewide Swine Group helps youth build the skills and confidence needed to successfully raise and exhibit swine. Members learn about animal care, management practices, and ways to improve their show pig projects while connecting with others who share the same interests. Throughout the year, youth can participate in monthly meetings, complete activities, and earn awards for their involvement.

Then and Now from Alum Bob Spenner:
THEN = showed dairy at the Washington County Fair as a Riverside Rambler in 1975
NOW = Bob serves as the bucket bottle superintendent but loves to be still a showman at the Alumni Dairy Show.

No matter where life has taken you, your 4-H story is a part of where you come from.

Looking for a good home: Her name is Hunny Bunny, she was born January 2023. She's very friendly!! Might take some warming up to someone new though. She comes with everything, food, water container, and her hutch. A heat lamp if needed/wanted. Message us for a phone number if interested.
