WASA Weekend Update

Both of our 12U teams were in action last weekend at the CIS Stars & Strikes tournament in the Des Moines area, and they absolutely showed out.

12U Orange – Came to play in their final C‑level tournament before officially being promoted to B. They went a perfect 4-0 in pool play, earning the #2 seed. They battled hard on Sunday, dropping their first bracket game, but bounced back in a big way—dominating their final game to finish 5th overall. They’ll be back on the field this Saturday in Independence, Iowa.

12U Black – Took on a tough field in the 12U Open division. They went 1-2-1 in pool play, including a tight one‑run loss and a huge 7‑run last‑inning comeback to tie their final pool game. On Sunday, they made a run in the Silver bracket—winning a close first game, then storming back with a 5‑run comeback in the semifinal before walking it off in the bottom of the 5th with a double. They ultimately fell in the championship, earning Silver Bracket Runner‑Up medals. They’ll be back in action Saturday and Sunday in Iowa City.

We are incredibly proud of both teams for grinding through 6–7 games each, competing with heart, and representing WASA with pride. Keep working hard, girls—your growth shows every weekend.

WASA Weekend Update – Demon Classic

Our final home tournament of the spring — the WASA Demon Classic — brought great softball, great energy, and a whole lot of community pride. Saturday gave us a full day of competition before Sunday’s weather forced us to cancel the second day of 12B and 12C.

8U teams continued play at Redlinger and Green, and our dedicated volunteers packed up what we could and made the most of the day, hosting some amazing young softball stars.

12U Black
Went 2–0–1 in pool play and earned the #1 seed, which secured them the tournament championship after bracket play was canceled due to field conditions.

9U
Finished pool play 1–0–1, then battled through two tough bracket games to claim the tournament championship. This group keeps growing every weekend and we are so proud of their progress.

8U Black
Dominated their 3‑game round robin, scoring 42 runs on their way to a 3–0 day and the championship. These girls have been on fire all spring.

8U Orange
Weather forced a field change, but this group stayed positive, played hard, and kept building their fundamentals. A great day of growth and teamwork.

A huge thank you to every member, parent, and community volunteer who took shifts and helped keep the Demon Classic running smoothly. We truly couldn’t do this without your support.

🔥 WASA Weekend Highlights! 🔥

14U Black closed out their season with a statement — 5–1 at Quad City May Madness and CHAMPIONS. What a run. What a group. Go crush your high school seasons!

12U Orange stayed hot across two tournaments, going 6–2 and grabbing back‑to‑back runner‑up finishes in Iowa City and Kalona.

12U Black showed out in the B Division at Kickin’ Up Dirt, finishing 3–1 and taking 2nd place after a strong weekend of softball.

9U fought their way into the championship bracket at Kickin’ Up Dirt, finishing 3rd after a competitive 1–2 weekend.

8U Black took on a tough two‑day slate at the CIS Gauntlet in Des Moines, finishing 5th and continuing to grow every time they step on the field.

All teams are off this weekend as some of our girls trade cleats for dance and track shoes— good luck to everyone performing and running/throwing at middle school state track!

We’ll be back next weekend for our final home event of the year: the WASA Demon Classic. See you at the fields next weekend!

WHAT. A. WEEKEND.
WASA teams were everywhere — and they were on FIRE.

🥎 8U Black
5–0. Champions. Enough said. Swing Into Spring belonged to them.

🥎 12U Orange
Another 5–0 run and another championship at Swing Into Spring. These girls are rolling.

🥎 14U Orange
Finished their season with a 3–0 sweep and championship rings at the CR Reds Softball Classic. What a way to close out the spring — now go dominate with your high school squads.

🥎 12U Black
Handled business in pool play with a clean sweep before a tough bracket game in the 12B division. Still a strong weekend of growth and grit.

🥎 14U Black
Took on elite competition at the Iowa USSSA High School State Tournament. These girls battled every inning — keep pushing, keep climbing, keep making WASA proud.

WASA is building something special. Let’s keep it rolling.
