🛏️💕 Two sisters. Two new beds. And two very excited smiles.

These sweet young ladies had been sharing a bed, but just before the start of the new school year, that changed.

They each received a bed of their very own. ❤️

And they didn’t just sit back and watch our SHP volunteers put everything together — they jumped right in to help!

From carrying supplies upstairs to putting pillowcases on their pillows, to helping unwrap their bedding, to holding the bed rails in place while our volunteers ran the drill, they were part of creating their own new sleeping spaces from beginning to end. 🥰

And judging by those smiles once everything was finished, we are pretty sure they were very excited about it.

Knowing these girls could head into a new school year with their own comfortable place to sleep at night is exactly why we do what we do. 💕

We’re incredibly thankful for every volunteer, donor, sponsor and community member who makes moments like this possible. Every bed we build eventually becomes someone’s bed and that’s what makes this mission so special.

No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town! 🛏️❤️

Last weekend was one of those deliveries that reminds us exactly why we do what we do. 💙🛏️

We had the privilege of delivering beds to two young brothers, Thomas and Jasper and these two weren’t about to just stand back and watch! They came ready to work, complete with their own tools AND gloves, and helped our SHP crew put their new bunk beds together. 🛠️🛌🥰

The excitement on their faces when we arrived was something special. But seeing them finally climb into their finished beds, get under the covers and try them out? That was the part that was so good for our hearts.♥️

Mom was incredibly thankful, and so were the boys. But I think our volunteers walked away from this delivery feeling pretty grateful, too.

This is one of the many reasons we are so thankful to have a local Sleep in Heavenly Peace chapter serving families right here in our communities. And we’re just one piece of something much bigger. With 400+ SHP chapters across the United States and Canada and 19 chapters in Iowa, volunteers all over the country are working toward the same simple belief:

No kid should have to sleep on the floor.

Every build. Every volunteer. Every donated mattress, piece of bedding and dollar. Every bed delivered.

It all leads to moments like these two happy boys tucked into beds of their very own. 💙

Sleep in Heavenly Peace just welcomed 21 NEW chapters into the SHP family! 🎉

That means 21 more communities joining the mission to make sure NO KID SLEEPS ON THE FLOOR IN OUR TOWN® — and even more children will have a safe, comfortable bed to call their own.

It’s pretty incredible to think that our local chapter is one small part of a movement that now has over 400 chapters working toward the same goal. 💙

Welcome to all 21 new chapters! We can’t wait to see the difference you make in your communities.

Some moments don’t need a lot of words.

These smiles say everything.

Tonight, these children will climb into beds of their own—a place that’s safe, comfortable, and truly theirs.

A bed is more than wood, a mattress, and bedding.
It’s comfort after a long day.
It’s a place to dream.
It’s a place to rest.
It’s a reminder that someone cared enough to show up.

These are the moments that remind us why the work of Sleep in Heavenly Peace matters. Something that may seem simple to many of us can mean absolutely everything to a child.

A huge thank you to the Keota SHP crew, every volunteer who gave their time, every donor who made these beds possible, and everyone who continues to support this mission.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from all of us at Sleep in Heavenly Peace – Washington County! ❤️🤍💙

Today we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy and remember those who have sacrificed to protect them.

As we gather with family and friends, we’re also incredibly grateful for the amazing people who make our mission possible—our volunteers, sponsors, donors, community partners, and everyone who helps ensure no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.

Because of your generosity, children in Washington and Keokuk Counties have a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads each night.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for being the heart behind every bed we build and every child we serve.

There are moments that remind you just how much good exists in the world.

These pictures show one of those moments.

Watching employees from a local businesses volunteer their time to help deliver beds to local children fills us with so much gratitude.

These individuals could have been anywhere else, but they chose to serve.

They chose to give back. They chose to make a difference. They chose to help a child have a bed to call their own.

To Washington State Bank and every staff member who helped with these deliveries, thank you. Your kindness and generosity are making an impact that reaches far beyond a single delivery.

We are incredibly thankful to be part of a community that comes together to ensure that no child sleeps on the floor.

Today we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Because of their courage and service, we are able to gather with family, enjoy our communities, and serve others through missions that matter.

As we reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day, we are also grateful for the many volunteers, donors, sponsors, and supporters who help us ensure that no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.

We are beyond grateful to Riverside Casino & Golf Resort for hosting this recent Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed build and for everyone who took a break in their day to give their time, energy, and heart to something that serves our children in our community. ❤️

With their helping hands, we successfully built 10 beds that will soon provide local children with a safe, comfortable place to sleep. That kind of impact means more than words can say. 🫶🏻❤️

To every volunteer who measured, sanded, assembled, stained, carried lumber, or simply showed up ready to help… thank you. Your kindness and willingness to serve will make a lasting difference for children and families in our community. 🛌

Today wasn’t just about delivering a bed.
It was about delivering comfort, dignity, and hope. 💙

Four seniors from the Keota Youth Group helped make this special delivery happen, and their willingness to serve others made a lasting impact on this family.

Sometimes people don’t realize how big of a difference a bed can make until they see the smiles, the gratitude, and the excitement firsthand. Every child deserves a safe and comfortable place to sleep.

We are so thankful for these amazing young volunteers and for everyone who continues to support the mission of Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Together, we are making sure no kid sleeps on the floor in our town. ❤️

Last weekend was another beautiful reminder of what community can do when people come together with servant hearts. 💙

Thanks to the incredible sponsorship and support from the Keota Youth Group, we successfully built 10 more beds that will soon be delivered to children right here in Keokuk and Washington County.

These kids showed up with hardworking attitudes, kind hearts, and a willingness to serve others — and they did an amazing job. Watching the next generation step up to make a difference in their community is something truly special.

A huge THANK YOU to the Keota Youth Group for investing your time, energy, and compassion into an organization that is helping so many children and families have something every child deserves… a safe, comfortable place to lay their head at night. 🛏️✨
