There are moments that remind you just how much good exists in the world.

These pictures show one of those moments.

Watching employees from a local businesses volunteer their time to help deliver beds to local children fills us with so much gratitude.

These individuals could have been anywhere else, but they chose to serve.

They chose to give back. They chose to make a difference. They chose to help a child have a bed to call their own.

To Washington State Bank and every staff member who helped with these deliveries, thank you. Your kindness and generosity are making an impact that reaches far beyond a single delivery.

We are incredibly thankful to be part of a community that comes together to ensure that no child sleeps on the floor.

Today we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.

Because of their courage and service, we are able to gather with family, enjoy our communities, and serve others through missions that matter.

As we reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day, we are also grateful for the many volunteers, donors, sponsors, and supporters who help us ensure that no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.

We are beyond grateful to Riverside Casino & Golf Resort for hosting this recent Sleep in Heavenly Peace bed build and for everyone who took a break in their day to give their time, energy, and heart to something that serves our children in our community. ❤️

With their helping hands, we successfully built 10 beds that will soon provide local children with a safe, comfortable place to sleep. That kind of impact means more than words can say. 🫶🏻❤️

To every volunteer who measured, sanded, assembled, stained, carried lumber, or simply showed up ready to help… thank you. Your kindness and willingness to serve will make a lasting difference for children and families in our community. 🛌

Today wasn’t just about delivering a bed.
It was about delivering comfort, dignity, and hope. 💙

Four seniors from the Keota Youth Group helped make this special delivery happen, and their willingness to serve others made a lasting impact on this family.

Sometimes people don’t realize how big of a difference a bed can make until they see the smiles, the gratitude, and the excitement firsthand. Every child deserves a safe and comfortable place to sleep.

We are so thankful for these amazing young volunteers and for everyone who continues to support the mission of Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Together, we are making sure no kid sleeps on the floor in our town. ❤️

Last weekend was another beautiful reminder of what community can do when people come together with servant hearts. 💙

Thanks to the incredible sponsorship and support from the Keota Youth Group, we successfully built 10 more beds that will soon be delivered to children right here in Keokuk and Washington County.

These kids showed up with hardworking attitudes, kind hearts, and a willingness to serve others — and they did an amazing job. Watching the next generation step up to make a difference in their community is something truly special.

A huge THANK YOU to the Keota Youth Group for investing your time, energy, and compassion into an organization that is helping so many children and families have something every child deserves… a safe, comfortable place to lay their head at night. 🛏️✨

Because of volunteers like you, more kids will no longer have to sleep on the floor.

I don’t think people always see the behind-the-scenes, the heart, the time, the leadership, the way she shows up again and again for something bigger than herself.

and communities like ours are stronger, connected, and cared for ❤️

15 Beds, 30+ Sets of Bedding, and a Whole Lot of Heart! ❤️

Peep the photos from our recent bed build at Pekin School! It was such an incredible day seeing the community come together to ensure local kids have a comfortable place to sleep.

We managed to build 15 beds, and thanks to incredible generosity, we have bedding ready for more than 30! 🙌

We are incredibly grateful and honored to have been selected as a Spring 2025 grant recipient.

Because of this generous $10,000 grant, our Sleep in Heavenly Peace – Washington County chapter has been able to continue our mission of making sure no child sleeps on the floor in our town.

This support has helped provide the essential materials such as lumber, mattresses, and bedding needed to build and deliver beds to local children who need them most. But more than that… it has given a better night’s sleep to families right here in our community.

None of this would be possible without organizations and individuals who believe in what we do. Your generosity is making a real, lasting impact, one bed at a time. 🛌

🛌 Check out this amazing video on how Luke’s vision started SHP! 🛌

✨Eight years ago today, everything changed.✨

Mike Rowe walked into a leaky workshop in Twin Falls, Idaho with production crew and a genuine curiosity about a guy named Luke Mickelson who quit his job to build beds for kids in his community.

What Mike discovered wasn’t just a woodworking project… it was humans helping humans, one bed at a time. He didn’t just observe. He got his hands dirty. And yes, even Mike’s eyes became misty.

He saw what Luke saw — the need, and what the mission of Sleep in Heavenly Peace could become. Mike’s team worked behind the scenes with the local community, pulling together resources to ‘Return the Favor.’

When Mike surprised Luke with a new warehouse and $120,000, it meant more children could receive beds. More families could sleep with dignity.

When the Returning The Favor episode aired on February 12, 2018, magic happened. Millions watched Luke’s passion. The tears of joy (and disbelief) during a bed delivery. And hundreds of people across the country asked the question that changed everything: “How can I bring this to MY town? How can I serve the children in MY community?”

What started in Luke’s garage became a lifeline for children nationwide. Today, over 3️⃣5️⃣0️⃣,0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ children have received beds.
